yup...seen Oscar's parent cert b4...Their background are mostly black and blue only.

UnsureUnsure couldn't find the dane lar...USJ5/2 has no even number lor....

if this evening has no rain might go and check it out again...

oh...the black dane at ss19 is quite old edi...not so sure abt the age but can see the white thingy on the mouth there... yeah sure will keep one pupSmile....

Just saw him the other day...yesterday actually.yea..as usual...chained up..lying on the floor. Kacau him with Hazel...only reaction was a him facing me while lying down of courseUnsure

Well, if you hv time,heheh..why not? I know I would if my parents would allow meSmile

He would be better off with you honestly....hehehe...than can join your bro and Crystal jogging at night...and his legs and back will get stronger..put on some more weight..and voila! a very very handsome dane.

it is a bangalow house with the cage in front of the gate one...

yup....I used to see 2 danes there...the other one is merle color if not mistaken...Smile

hav u seen the dane at a close distance? I used to drive near to the gate there and the dane will stand up...and I can only see the head only...hehehehe

Careful not too many...if gain popularity too fast...it'll end up like so many GSD's and GR's.. and many other popular breeds. The GD will fall prey to puppy mills,not that they aren't now.Frown But it would be good to see moreSmile

my bro will know if he stand beside Oscar. He got very close to the fawn dane and the height is around my bro's hip. dont think it is nice to bring ruler to measure Oscar's height...Blush

u have the point also. when the breed become popular...there will be more unethical breeders. I still cant understand why people still breed danes with different colorsCrazyCrazyCrazy...

I would only choose black or might consider harlequin as the stud dog for my Crystal. Smile

Maybe they think it's unique?Crazy well,that's a sad excuse anyway. But colour is just colour. The worst if they breed dogs with diseases..Unsure

What's the original colour/preferred colour of the GD when the breed was first introduced? Was wondering that..Since they were hog hunters, could it be the darker colours like black or brindle? Or did they prefer the lighter colours so that if the hunter were to shoot the hog,he could differentiate the dane and hog easier? or..neitherCrazy Also,how big were they originally ar? Been to a few sites and could not find that kind of info.

hehehehe...any thoughts for other dane colours? not for studs i mean. Just for owning.Smile

it is unique to mix up the colors?? dont think so...most breeders breed for money without much care abt maintaining or improving the breed quality. Like they crossed black and fawn/brindle danes and the puppies came out to be black, fawn, and fawn base with some black patches. sad thing is when asked abt why choosing other color for stud, they would tell you "the stud dog is so huge and macho" things like that.... and hoping that the pups will look like the sire and then they can sell at a higher price. Aaiii........ I wish there is a dane club set up to regulate/educate these unethical breeders.

The origin colors?? Basically, there are 5 acceptable colors: fawn, brindle, harlequin, black, and blue. Mantle is recognized later. I cant recall if I ever read something relates to the origin color. As for the size, they were as huge as of today's danes. but again there is a difference between male and female.

thoughts of other colors??? erm....I like the french mastiff kind of dark red color....havnt seen one yet...hahhahhah...but hope there is none....out of standard mar...LaughLaughLaugh

well i used to see the dad jog the dog lar...used to stay in ss19 there wan mar...

his tall lar......ALMOST as tall as the dad from toe to head...the dad shorter then me... from far lar....i see

near its big lar.....but everytime i go to her house the dane is not out mar...in the gate there only the cage

doesnt look skinny to me the dane....much better then the ones i've seen so farSmile

not the "original" colours..the prefered colours for hunters or ppl who used the dogs for real work. For example,the game keepers who used the bullmastiffs preferred the pure black(yes,pure black working bullmastiffs) as they were difficult to see in the dark.2nd choice would be brindle. Now,it's considered an "original" colour because the club says so,not the gamekeepers. Black isn't though. It's a disqualification. Any such thing in the dane?

wow...they were always this huge? So far..lot of the breeds were either bred down in size or bred for bigger,more impressive size. Alot of the "bulldog" breeds like the boxer used to look like pit bulls which I think is practical, because such a short muzzle would restrict their breathing,like the bullmastiff.The boxers were also not to "slim" like the dobe and were more solid and muscular. Hope you get my driff.

ok..enough of my rambling. I'm not too good with explanations so hope to meet you tmr so can discuss this further.Smile

yea they had the dog for a very long time edi............since when i was form 2 i think the dog was there liows!........so that makes it ...er...7 years perhaps the mossssst lar the dogs ageWink

ss19 ppl where got rich rich?..........normal only wat....ss19 sooooooooo biggggggggg i stay in the low end wan lar..ahahhha Tongue
