It is a disqualification..but if you don't plan to show or breed your dog...it's alright Smile

Try to get it cheaper though. Can go a little cheaper Wink

But i would not buy it because of the hocks.......chances are the pups might inherit it too. Unimpressed

Hi all. I happened to stumbled upon this site and I was really happy as I have been trying to find a site for dog lovers in Malaysia. I was equally impressed with an active forum on Great Dane. This is because I'm a very happy owner of a Harlequin Great Dane imported from Australia. He is now a big 1yr 2 mth old, I think he is around 37'' or 38" tall. What I have read from this discussion, Harlequin is actually the most expensive among the other colour. As I'm not too familiar with the pricing here, my 2 cents is that it's difficult to get a true and true Harlequin as in every litter only half of it will have the pure white and black patches. Most of them will have some sort of greyish colour aka Merle. In fact the famous Scooby Doo is also a Merle coloured dog...just like mine. And this is under strict breeding control...Because we love this bread so much I would love to find a match for him some time very soon...only pure Black or Harlequin will do though.

I like the blue,brindle,harlequin the most. Can't really decide which one but I must admit,Sean's rubbing off on me..beginning to really like black danes too. Tongue

woo...huge harlequin dane imported from Aussie huh? yup,..harlequin is the most expensive and hard to get among the colors.

I have 2 Black danes, both with white marking on the chest. THe sire is mantle and the dam is pure black. U can view some of the pics at the gallery site.

I was actually searching everywhere for a good stud dog lately, but at the end decided not to breed at this time coz Raven (the young male)needs much attention from us. So, we decided to postpone it to next year. Hopefully I can have the chance to meet u up and to view your dane one day. Smile

abt the white markingon the chest, it is acceptable in every countries. Haven't u seen one champ with white marking on the chest?? Crazy

a lot of breeders they do breed harlequin with black..that's why many black danes have white marking on the chest. It is very rare that breeders breed pure black with pure black for few generations. I think Oscar's background is pure black. I have seen the cert. b4.

yea...agree with my bro also..yes, we found a stud adi...it is at ss19. The dane is black and it is a direct import from Aussie. I like its head. It is a bit old though...and havent done b4....so a bit doubt abt the mating process lor... Laugh

somone told me...abt an unethical breeder..simply breed his danes and all the funny colours were produced,harlequin with some fawn,black and fawn patches,black and tan etc.
