Lesson 1.  

Introduction & briefing on the whole exercises of Novice:

1.     Heel on Lead – 20pts
2.     Heel free – 30pts
3.     Stand stay – 10pts
4.     Recall – 20pts
5.     Sit stay (1 min) – 10pts
6.     Down stay (3 min) – 10pts.
Revision and assessment with the whole exercises of the Pre-Novice.

Lesson 2:

Revision on heeling exercise to improve the left turn.
To improve the halt and down with better speed.
To assess the seriousness of ‘LAGGING’ & look into method of improvement.

Lesson 3:

Revision of lesson 2, but with the introduction of ‘SLOW PACE’ & ‘FAST PACE’.
Stand stay exercise. This exercise is an improvement from Pre-Novice. The handler has to leave the dog.
(Commands: Forward, halt, leave yr dog, about turn, halt, return to your dog)

Revise the exercises of the last 3 lessons.
Introduce heel into fig 8.

Lesson 5:

Now we have covered half of the course. Assess the standard of each handler.
Introduce the RECALL OFF LEAD.
The final requirement distance is at least 18 feet.
The instructor should start off with a distance of 5 feet. If failed, return to basic with lead.
You’re encouraged to use toy or food (for this exercise) to get max. result.

Lesson 6:

Full healing pattern on lead, with fast pace, slow pace, fig 8.
Recall – 10 feet.
Sit stay, half minute.
Down stay, one minute.

RECALL without lead, 15 feet.
Down stay, 3 minutes.
Sit stay 1 min.

Revision on full healing pattern on lead.

Mock trial to prepare for graduation next week.
