i had plenty of experience of dogs under my care running out of the house gate. once they had the chance to do it, they will find it really fun and getting rid of the habit is difficult. Not only the street is dangerous and i had tough time to get them back, they wouldn't careless about you calling because they know where their house is.
so with all the bad experience i had, i never let Pacco had the chance to run out from the gate since day one. i will make sure i hold on to her, chain her or lock her up before my family open the gate.
By now she's 3.5 yrs old, even the gate is wide open, she wouldn't even think out running out alone.
but the situation during jungle trekking and other outdoor activities are different. the unfamiliar environment will make your dog wary and they will usually choose to stay close to the owner.
P/s: we inform u if there's a trek on may 3
