Hi mochacappucino, I think it is a very subjective thing. Rationally, one should. But most people jump into it "impulsively" and enjoy the adventure as well. I had some really basic for living knowledge before I got Salsa, that is, that a dog had to eat, drink, a comfy place to sleep, stipulated time to pee pee and poo poo! I hadn't really considered the amount of time and attention that I had to give to her before getting her, but when I got her, the attention, time and loving came naturally.
