Oh yes.. I have heard about the same thing too.. didn't the vet advise you on what made the eyes goes red?? It could be sore eyes too you know.. bacteria infection... But I hope she get well soon.. for the moment, better do constant wipe around her eyes area and also keep her indoor..
... not so sure about frog urea ... but some species of frogs and toads do secrete poison from glands as part of their defense mechanism ... and if that gets into a dog's eyes or mouth ... it can be harmful ... the severity depends on the species of frog or toad ...
... So, if you find your dog mouthing a frog or toad ... wash the part of your dog that came into contact with amphibian - with lots and lots of water ... and that is usually is sufficient ...
thank you, you knowlah vet overhere don't even sure what had make my baby eyes so red. Now only apply the medication cream and oil into the eyes and today seem better as he can walk properly ( straight ) and eating well.
now we are keeping in the house but my queen baby ( silky ) is so mad about him, keep him in the view at all time.
Well, at least she's still eating, that's a +ve sign to me.. just ensure lots of water and pay more attention on her eyes.. if no good sign, then change vet, to get second opinion. hope she gets well soon!
glad to hear that your dog is doing well. for your information, next time if any of your dogs are having problem concerning with the eyes, you can refer to Dr. Nadzariah Cheng from UPM, she is the one and only veterinary ophthalmologist in Malaysia.
i went to meet up Dr Nazariah at UPM and was inform that my baby was suffering from cataract problem and due to his age at 8 is not suitable for operation, what the advise is to keep his at safer place for the rest of his life.....poor baby..
So from this inccident it awake me that dogs do have cataract problem same as human due to exposure to UV from the sun light, so i had bought doggles for all the others babies to wear when ever they at outing and i had change the normal lens to poloroid lens which was recommended and can be use during nite too.
Hello jaz, sad to inform that my baby can't see anmore for the rest of his life due to cataract problem as advise by doctor no operation for dog age at 8.......
advise to let dogs wear doggles during outing and must used the uv protection lens
