I have a collie. Now 2 years old. Lovely dog. Very handsome. Excellent temperament and very intelligent. Unfortunately, 2 days ago, he dislocated his hip and when I took him to the vet I was told that he has hip dysplasia. A very bad case of it. I am writing this to warn you about your dogs. Please have them x rayed to see if they have bad hips. If you find out early, you can give them glucosamine to help them. I didn't know. I got my collie from a kennel in Cheras also. I think that the breeder knew that the puppy had hip dysplasia and decided to sell him off becasue they only advertised his sale when he was 4 months old. He was so handsome (ideal BC markings) that they may have wanteed to breed him.Something made them change their mind and I now know what. But I love my dog and I am glad that I have him because at least I will look after him. But be careful, there are so few border collie's around. If you buy a pup (Hip dysplasia hard to diagnose early) have the parents x-rayed. It is genetic. Breeder's should not be allowed to breed lines with HD. Good luck with your dog. Please have him/her x-rayed.
haha ! she is 3 mths old now, and she has a new skill : Vertical jump
and she really can jump high !
today i spent only less than an hour to train her to sit and shake hand... when i hold up the rawhide, she jumped very high.. she can walk also while trying to reach the rawhide...
and one more thing - she poo-poo 2 times today, and on the same spot ! finally ! she knows where to pee-pee also -- on newspapers
is this considered toilet-trained ah???

i read ur blog & i hav 2 admit that ur gal 70% look like border collie. she's a beautiful baby. My benjamin can jump very high too & his breath sometimes smell like coffee too. haha.
haha, they do have d similarities ha...good good. but then sometimes his breath quite smelly too ... i hope i can brush his teeth but i cant coz Ben kinda agressive, boy i guess. he keep on biting my hand & my legs. i think i spoiled him coz i tak sampai hati to scold him when he is just a baby....sign.
Be careful with your dog jumping high. Is not a good thing. It can cause hips problem in the future. Keep the weight of your dog as low as possible to avoid hips problem.
Yes, if she knows where to pee and poo that is consider toilet train.

ya Molly also likes to bite my hands and feet.. especialy when she like naik gila.. she will run here and there like mad at a super fast and furius speed ! wawawa... she realy scared me sometimes.. and she sometimes when i wanna pat her, she will bite me.. very painful gaaaa

ya i used to spoil Molly until so terribly sakit hati, but now, whenever she do the wrong thing, i will ignore her for an hour.. then she become guai lui.. kekeke

this Molly of mine, one thing i dont need to worry is her weight.. she is tooo hyperactive.. she can run here and there and jump here and there until i myself cant chase her. she becomes very slim and tends to have a model body.

u shld get a play pen for her, instead of letting her wonder around d house freely....she might get herself into trouble...if juz chewing up d cable, is still safe....but if she happen 2 eat it....then it might be dangerous...

Actually, I got her a play pen few weeks ago, it was from my fren the play pen. BUT she managed to destroy the play pen and jumped through it. she can jump high... sigh..

haha ya. sometimes is amazing to see her jump so high. if join olympic sure get placement. maybe top 10. BUT when comes to escaping just wanting to roam the house, molly gets first place in my head.
Now she is locked in the bathroom.. poor gurl. but i must incorporate discipline since young. if not, i might regret for the whole doglife.
