dear alicia i am really saddened by the lost of your brownie ...and i really appreciate that you are willing to share your story with us. i know this is gonna be really hard on you, having to hold him for a while and then had to let him go again. below is something i got from a member here when i lost my boy a few months back and it has helped me tremendously in coping with the pain. i now share it with you...and hope that you'd find some comfort in the words. ~~~~~~~~~ Just this side of Heaven is a place called The Rainbow Bridge ... When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing, they miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent, the eager body quivers. Suddenly they begin to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, their legs carrying them faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together ... ~~~~~~~ i hope all the members who are reading this will understand why some of us here strongly discourage people from buying puppies and dogs from petshops. we do not want to see something like this happen again and again. please spread the message and stop buying from petshops. it is always worth your time and effort to look for a repsonsible breeder and get a healthy pup in return. and alicia, it was a painful lesson you had to learn. nonetheless, take comfort in knowing that your little brownie is now free from suffering and is in a happy place. and he will be waiting for you when the time has come for you to be together again. and he will always be there with you...because you have him in your heart...just like i have my billy boy with me - always. my deepest condolences once again.
