Hi both of u,
Yes it's quite complicating but it's just the same for me when people tell me about their places in their area which i've never been to or rarely go to.
Aragorn(whats ur name) Hehe i volunteer because i really really love those animals there. They're like my family evnethough some were mean and nasty towards me (bite me,make me get knocked on the door and bleed and all) but it's all because they feel intimidated by us human beings.Anyway it's good to know that u donate some money regularly to them. Thanks for doing that for my friends there in SPCA!Am planning to work with SPCA soon because i'm planning on studying Animal Behaviour Psychology...i hope.

Hi, Yes he was a total jerk.shouldn't own that nice GDane.Yeah too bad i had no time to take a picture but even if i did i wouldn't too, waste my negatives' n money to develope that useless face of his. Yes i do think we look a little pathetic in the eyes of foreigners. When u go to the SPCA, u see more foreign young kids helping out (eventhough not REALLY helping out bt at least they do visit there and play around with those lonely furkids!) than local young kids. It's the typical asian thinking for most parents that animals are dirty things and all. Most parents dont teach their children about all these stuffs like most foreigners would.

Well I find it generally true in the term of Asian context. We are on the whole more subdued with outside world. Of course not everyone is like that....I think here got two person whom doesnt fit into this category already, Paulynn and You
You are lucky that your parents loves dogs as well. Many people whom loves dogs does not enjoy such previllage.

Hi,
My name is Angie... I know of my sis' colleague who wants to volunteer with either PAWs or SPCA. We told him about PAWs and I think he is considering volunteering there.
Yes, I agree with you about some nasty dogs behaviour. I believe they behave that way because they have been mistreated before by humans and so, do not trust them. I can say that it is the same with humans as well... It is their natural instinct to do so.
Wow... Animal Behaviour Psychology... That would be cool... Become a "doggy whisperer" ?

Hi Angie,U must be a big fan of Aragorn.Find him a huge turn on hahah :) Yes i think PAWS need some volunteers too.RIght now actually at this very moment they need someone to do a signboard that says PAWS.If your sis's coll is really interested ask him/her to check it out. It'll help the staffs there heaps.SPCA has quite a number of volunteers since the expats' kids come over during the weekends or whenver they're free.
Talking about doggy behaviour...sigh for the record i've been bitten 10 days for the past 5 days by some scared dogs.Thankfully tetanus shots lasts 10 years. Yes and no.Not only doggy whisperer..but ALL sorts of animal whisperer.I don't only love dogs but other animals.Cats.....a little cos am afraid of them rubbing their body against my legs or their claws..Meeeow!

Hi joanne sorry for the late reply..been busy with spca dogs lately.
Erm if u're refering to being liberal and open minded about dogs they're quite alright but as for licking the face and all that it's a big no no to them.Hygeine problems :) but i dont really care i'll still do it ..discreeetly :P My mom wants to help out but i told her she cant do that if she doesn't clean up our own dogs' eliminations because the job over at spca is 10 times harder and messier as most of the dogs will step on their on stools and when u carry them and clean the cage u'lll get some lucky stools on your arms or body lol.
U know there's this lady who brought her son to adopt a puppy. (chinese ) and she almost made me screamed at her.She wants a pup for her son but told her son in chinese " dont touch the dog...dirty little creatures.Later u'll be sick and all." what a total nonsense!! ARGH
I guess u'd say that they've taught me well to treat and respect animals equally :)

Yes and no... I took a LOTR Personality test and it seems that I'm Aragorn... Anyway, if I'm really frustrated I can turn into Saruman (the opp side of Aragorn) ....
Hahaa.... I'm just a little annoyed with cat poop smell. Can never get used to it... ... Wow... How bad are the bites?? Is it a little nip?
Glad to hear that you've got tetanus shots... Hmmm... Reminds me of my own...

hi,
I see...i'd love to be Legolas lol...or maybe Arwen or Galadriel because they're sooooo Pretty!! :)
Haha to me dogs' and cats' poops makes no differences. It smells just as bad as it should be.Even human's stinks like nonsense lol.My tetanus shots were a few years back i think. Not sure what shot i had last year during my spm time.rubenus or tetanus can't remember but not really bothered.
bites aren't really bad..today i have a total number of 5 bruises from them, 3 stratches and a nipfrom one of the abused GSD.Infected but wasn't bothered about it till now.It grew "big" and a friend of mine told me to sterilise my needle and pop out the yellow liquid but i'm not doing it.Shall wait till tomorrow and let him do that for me lol.
The bites aren't really bad.Its their condition that makes it so bad.I wouldn'[t mind getting some nips from them because i know they don't mean to (some dogs maybe)

Hahaha... Agree with you about the elves...
Yea... Poop by all creatures are smelly by nature..
Hmmmm.... Yea.. Better take care of that infected bite. Poor thing... an abused GSD... *sigh*... My experienced with traumatized dogs are that they are quite insecure even after you show them lots of love and care...
Oofy was an abandoned dog and she was abandoned in a red basket and when we tried to make it her bed, she refused to get into it. When we take her for a ride, she would get so scared because she thinks we are abandoning her. *sigh*..
Anyway, you are really doing a good job at the SPCA.. Really admire the volunteers there!

hi,
Yes,thanks for ur concern.had some accident last night which doesn't involve dogs and went for a med check up.Told the doc to give me a tetanus jab just incase.Hurts heaps now thanks to a rough handling guy frirend of mine who punch the place where i got my jab haha.Yes they are quite insecure with everything but don't know why most of the traumatized dogs accept me hwen i try to communicate with them.U know the abused dogs are now so much lively than the first time they were borught into the SPCA? When they wre first in spca they looked so terrific...now??Whenever they see me....esp those LRs..hop like a JRT LoL.
thanks.I'm glad that i can do something for thise cute creatures.and not forgetting those cats too lol.

all poop smells. human's, doggies', cats, tortoises, white mice etc....
but its part of life. nothing much to squirm about.
i have to agree that the spca is doing a lovely job. perhaps it helps that because of tehir location a fair bit of expats do volunteer. i don't think paws has the same priviledge. i can't help feeling that they are more run down.
we adopted a pup from spca. she came to us looking all dark brown...and now she is 2 years old and she is all beige! we used to joke that my aunt must have bleached her. lovely character..very manja and would do anything just to have a pat on the head.
talking of which...how many dogs can a corner house in pj have? we have 2 dogs there and my aunt is thinking of adopting another from either spca or paws.

Hahaha...
Agree with you totally about poop... I remember some Japanese inventor tried to invent a pill that you can eat to make your poop not so smelly... Keke... Funny that never caught on...
Yea, I have to admit that SPCA is in marvelous condition compared to PAWS. I thought that PAWS was supposed to relocate but it is still at the same place. Anyway, the pups in PAWS are so cute and chubby...
Haha... Yea.. My dog Oofy came to us in GSD colours but she ligthened when she grew up, looking more like MS colours...
I'm not so sure about PJ but SJ allows 2 dogs per house...

they do have this thingy in insetan klcc for adults poop. all you do is use one drop in your toilet bowl before business...and it helps. i tried it on my hubby when he was done with food poisoning 2 days back. it does not mask...but apparently creates a layer above the water. poop smells bad when they come in contact with water.
not too sure whether it works on shalom's solids but putting them in water before i flush her poop seems to work.
those interested to check it out can go to isetan klcc and find it hung (small bottle like eye drops) facing teh price identifier beside a cashier counter.
