hi dejun, among the first few initial signs/symptoms to look for includes paws hardening, lost of appetite, biphasic fever (sometimes got, sometimes normal), vomiting and nose discharge. if all of these symptoms appears, it's a good chance that it's distemper. however, it could be a case of kennel cough, but should the doctor be experienced enough to rule out others, it's more or less confirmed. some would say it may not be (or rather hoped not), and start with all the antibiotics for the sign/symptoms. if the drugs don't work, i would say it is. search for information in the net for additional knowledge. it's vastly available. there's no known treatment, or should most vets would say, and therefore only supportive treatments are given. however, there's always alternatives to handle them. if you are interested in the alternatives, it'll be my pleasure to share with you.
