You have to monitor the dogs behavior and its timing to do big biz. Allow him/her to finish, keep a distance..normally it would turn around to sniff and will move off. If it wants to have it...STOP her there and then and keep him/her by your side..scoop away and tell NO NO or other choice of words. Have to be consistent going about it until it understand. If your shih tzu is still below 6 months, is more on curiosity to toy with its poo but whatever it is...put a stop to it. If your shih tzu a female, high possibility it would go through this stage for about 3 months. Reason when an adult female looking after her pups, she would clean up the area regardless big or small biz..bottomline its going through development stages. Would be good to opt another vet.
