So i copied this from Chika's post. SPCA Selangor is located in Ampang Jaya and is near the Ampang Point mall. If you're coming along Jalan Ampang from KL, you'll come to a big flyover just before Ampang Point. Don't take the flyover and instead go left. Turn right at the first traffic light (you'll see Ampang Puteri Hospital on your right) and there should be KL International School on your left. Keep straight for a while and you'll see a small string of shops (including 7-Eleven) on your left. SPCA is next to the shoplot. The name of the street is Jalan Kerja Air Lama. tel no. for SPCA is 4256-5312/4253-5179. ,-._,-. \/)"(\/ (_o_)

SPCA is open EVERYDAY, even on weekends and public holidays, from 9am to 4pm. As for souvenirs, there are things like t-shirts, car stickers, bookmarks and button badges sold in the office. They are not really displayed (gotta do something about it!), so you might have to search for them. Or ask any staff or volunteers there! There is also a gift shop or something (geez, i have been there for half a year but i have never step foot into the shop!), on your right hand side just as you enter into SPCA. The shop does not open everyday and definitely not on Sundays (when i usually go). But i heard there are very nice and cheap stuff to buy in the shop. If you do not find anything to buy from the office or the shop, don't worry. You could always help out by giving donations to SPCA. Again, the donation box is not strategically located in the office (really must do something about this!), so do step into the office and ask where you could place your donation into. On behalf of my four-legged friends there, I THANK YOU in advance! I think someone asked about descriptions of the puppies that are up for adoption in SPCA. Well, there are really lots of different puppies there EVERY week, so the best thing to do is to go there yourself and have a look. But of course what I could also do is take photos of the puppies and dogs there every Sunday and post them here. However if you are looking for a puppy to adopt, my advise is to go to SPCA yourself. This is because if I post the photos here on Sunday, the puppies might be gone the next day. Either adopted or..... Space is really a limition, and imagine people bringing in puppies by the box load into SPCA almost everyday! It is sad, but nevertheless, a fact. So I really hope to see more of you dog-lovers going to SPCA in the near future, be it to adopt a new friend, to buy something, to make a donation, or just to have a look around to visit the homeless dogs. All are welcome and appreciated! And if you do happen to drop by on a Sunday, you would most probably see me there either walking, bathing or grooming a dog, cleaning the cages, or sitting down by the marble table exhausted from after walking 6 or 8 furry friends! When I called to make an enquiry about being a volunteer, they were rude and sounded like they were not interested in entertaining the call. I have few other friends who had the same experience. When I called PAWS, they were enthusiastic about having a volunteer and they seemed more keen on assisting, compared to SPCA. Can anybody enlighten me on this matter? ai_ney Ultra ALPHA Dec 5, 2003, 2:53 AM Views: 2237 Re: [phoenix] SPCA contact hi phoenix, a lot have been said about the 'treatment' or lack of, by the staff in spca ampang... and i would not like to repeat that again here... as i've advised most people and even suggested in some posts here in the forum, it would be good to just walk in to spca on anyday u r free, tell the staff why u r there and u would be shown what u can do to help... it would be better if u could go on a saturday or sunday as then there are many other volunteers to guide u... and do go with 1 or 2 friends so that it'll be a lot more fun volunteering, especially on the first day... alternatively, u could let me know when u r going and we could meet there so that i could show u around spca and what to do there... sundays would be good... always keep in mind that u r there because of the dogs and cats, so u do not really have to care much about the other people there and how they treat u... unless the person is friendly, then that's another story... I agree with you, that volunteers are there for the dogs and cats and not the people working there but sometimes human interaction plays a big role in making things succeed. And I think the SPCA staff need to buck up their PR skills a little bit more. I think this would help tremendously. Sure I'd like to drop by the SPCA and see what the volunteers are up to and hopefully get myself involved during the weekends. I'll keep in touch with you about this. But currently, I think I'll focus a little bit more on PAWS, as I feel they need much more assistance than the SPCA. I hv some Q about a 'bull terrier' call Troy in Ampang SPCA, hope you could help me out and tell me more about him. I went to SPCA to visit & play with Troy (introduce by the volunteers of SPCA during a talk) yesterday. I found him to be very lovely. I am confident to manage his attitude (althouth after listening to all the lecture given by the 'office ppl' on how dangerous & scary a bull terrier can be). however, my concern is more on his health and the skin condition. If it is posible, I would like to speak to the Vet (who is taking care of him in SPCA) about my concern. Or else, will SPCA allow me to bring him out to visit my Vet for advice? Need your help asap, as informed by the volunteer, he will be put to sleep in anther 1-2 weeks time. I really hope I can gv him and myself a chance. Thanks for your help.

ai_ney Ultra ALPHA Dec 7, 2004, 1:57 AM Views: 1926 Re: [sclong] SPCA contact hi there, good to know that u r interested in the bull terrier... i do not know Troy well enough to tell u more about him... but as far as i know, bull terrier is not a 'scary' breed... bull terrier is rare in malaysia, and thus i believe they are often mistaken for other more 'dangerous' breed... there are 2 vets in SPCA ampang, and u can talk to them about Troy's condition... they would be the best person to talk to as they are the ones who administer him... taking Troy out of SPCA to see your vet might not be possible unless u adopt him... but u can always ask for ur vet's advise... is Troy having some kind of skin problem now? if yes, is SPCA treating the problem? also, it might be good to search the internet to find out more about this breed so that u r fully prepared... if u have already done that, thumds up for u!... it will be really good news if u finally decide to adopt Troy and give him a good life ahead... do let me know if i can further assist u on this matter... u can also email me at ai_ney@puppy.com.my... My group can proudly say we have found homes for 14 puppies in 1 month....that's great! Now we have 3 more.... 1 already has a home but I have to foster hime for sometime... we just found another 2 female mongrels.... they are very nice in colour... I tried to use mirror to reflect so that the betta would practice fighting...but i not sure is the tank problem or the mirror problem, some how the betta cannot see its reflection, and it swim away...
