Hi Paulynn,

I have been following your volunteer work in SPCA. You're a real animal lover. Keep up the good work! Since you are in close contact with SPCA do you have any idea on what is happening with the 3 rescued dogs from this house in Puchong?

These dogs were abandoned by their owners since CNY started and have been receiving charity from neighbours until SPCA was called in.

Thanks!

Hi Paulynn,

Good job at SPCA Wink. Hope more Malaysian can do volunteer work for animal shelter here. How was your CNY celebration?

Has all the 16 dogs from December court case get their new owner? Can't imagine how cruel some people can be!

I just lost one of my dog during the last CNY and considering to adopt one in the near future. The lost adopted from PAWS.

Cheers.

hi amanda

yes bas number 23 does go to spca but u have to stop either before or after the spca. it's either intrakota or the red bus. if after spca. it'd turn right where therre'd be a busstop..not too far from spca .only a minutes' walk.before as well.it'll stop infront of some shops...few seconds walk.

When u reached a row of shops where there's a 7-11 shop...SPCA is just right after it!

Sorry to tell u this but that lady u saw and the indon helper are permanent staffs and kennel helpers.Thgat's why they are allowed inside of SPCA after visiting hours. Outsiders aren't really allowed after 4pm because most of the dogs are let loose for the day.

Re: School Trips From International Schools Made SPCA a Happier Place! [In reply to] Can't Post

Hiya guys, since many of you are asking whether i'm still going to SPCA as often as i did last year, Yes i still am and will always be going there as often as i can.Well, at least twice a week as i really really hate losing out on knowing which dogs' gone home or PTS. Recently, some Int school kids came to spca for a school field trip and i happened to be one of the educational officers. These kids range from 5-9 years old and i taught them about spaying/neutering, euthanized ( yes they know the meaning!), abuse, pet care and so on.Of course they can't fully understand all that's why i used simple words and took examples to let them understand the part on abuse and mistreating. It was relaly good educating them and creating awareness to kids at such young age. I'll even go to their school to havea teachers' discussion so that next time the teachers can teach them too at school. There were several dogs esp puppies brought in and i was feeling really sad for one of them. Not sure whether i've told you about the Min Pin X puppies that came in few months back. One of them wasadopted during that first few months they were brought in and now he's being returned back to spca by his dumb owner with a stupid lame reason that he's sick. Why can't she spend just a few dollars on her pet and see the vet? Is it too much to pay for it? IF she can do this to her pet i have no doubts that she'll do it to her parents. Trust me on this. My mom was so sad when i told her that. Anyway i'll scan the group pics and show y'all!

Re: [paulynn] School Trips From International Schools Made SPCA a Happier Place! [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi, Paulynn,

First of all, i admire ur work at SPCA!! However,

I believe the words u used is a bit harsh here. We are all trying to do good deed to all those poor animal at SPCA. I feel disapointed also when got to know that the owner return the pup...but maybe he/she really have difficulties such as maybe he/she is afraid of sickness of the animal kingdom will cause his/hers family member to get sick. Nowadays, too many diseases were said to be originated by animal. I don't blame them for being a bit nervous!!!I just blame that the press are not being specific!! and the people are not well informed!! However, he/she did return the pup to SPCA rather than dump them anywhere....so, the poor little thing might just has another chance of being own by other loving home....

After all, we pity the abandoned dogs and try to help as much as we can, why don't we keep our spirit high and don't get angry and try to hope for the best and spread as mush as we can to the public that there are still a lot of dogs that needs help in any form that they can provide....

Don't get offended, i just want to share my thought.....

Sorry if i said something wrong....

Re: [NOBITA1403] School Trips From International Schools Made SPCA a Happier Place! [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi!!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yes, I do agree with you in some of your points. Basically, everybody who adopts a dog, or cat at the SPCA is trying to give dogs a better home. But before they go and just adopt one, they should know the responsibilities that come with it as well.

Returning a dog back to the SPCA just becos it is sick, IS a lame excuse. She could have tried to get it treated rather than take the short cut. Yes, I agree that sometimes the public is not well informed and that the media should play their part in giving accurate information. But, if she is afraid that there was going to be diseases that come together with the dog or any other animals for that matter, then I'd suggest she stay with humans only. But don't forget, even humans have diseases.

I guess that people must know, learn and open their eyes, that getting a dog is like getting a kid. With that, comes very, VERY heavy and sometimes VERY pricey responsibilities.

Re: [NOBITA1403,phoenix] School Trips From International Schools Made SPCA a Happier Place! [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi one way,
I know what u mean but as hard headed as i am i don't think that i am harsh. You see, she's not the only one who's been doing this and volunteering there for ages has made me more concern about creating awareness and all. Of course the media has to contribute on it too. The Malay Mail's Sunday n/p are doing something about it.So's Pets World. But all these are common sense where both you and i know it.I'm only 19 for goodness' sake and i dont need the media to inform me that keeping an animal means u have the responsibilities to keep it healthy and u have to send it for med check ups if it falls sick. It's all common sense. I've never heard of a dog-transmitted diseases and even reports says that children who grew up with dogs have higher immunity system than others who's not been keeping dogs. Well, she'd just used her brain a little and spend some money get it treated then it' wouldn't be that bad. It WOULD BE a deadly disease too if she did not sent it for a check up. and it would too be her fault IF the dog has a disease and because of the pup the disease spreaded around the shelter and otherdogs are infected by it. She herself personally told me that she DID NOT WANT TO PAY for the check ups that's why my words was "harsh". Honestly tell me, have u ever met someone who has such thick face?
I'm not offended by you but i'm offended by people with brains in their layers of fat in their butt but not in their head. All u need is some common sense to raise a dog that's all u need. The rest is history. I've never kept a dog before until i got my first one and never even read any books on dogs but yet i knew what to do if my dog vomits or looked sick because that's common sense u see.
And u don't need to say sorry because u said nothing wrong and u were just giving ur point of view.

Hi guys:)

these are the pics that i promised to post up.Taken on wednesday where some int school kids came to spca for school field trip and i was educating them on the importance of being a responsible owner,spaying/neutering, euthanized and so on. Trust me on this, they are interested and now they know the meaning of spaying/neutering and euthanized! Good isn't it? creating awareness at such young age!
