Hi Mr Khoo...

You forgot to add in "this forum" under the source for self train....

coz i self train but source from internet, forums etc etc.... not exactly from books or videos...

anyway, i already vote under self train.... that's the nearest kwah....

HiSmile

so far Ladee has responded well to all the commands I teach her and can do all the basic 'sit', 'down', 'stay', 'shake hands', 'qiute' and various other tricks... I get the methods from books...

hi there

sorry for such a late reply as am kinda very much tied down with projects....that seems to always spelled URGENT!!!!

hey i hope you've been coping well with your new pekingese baby...must be fluffy and cute lor...jaga her hair huh nanti have to send for cut lor.

if you have a garden...make it a schedule like poo after his makan...set a time so it's gonna be easy for you. after one week he should be fine. if you're staying in apt, do toilet train on newspaper lor...keep some old ones on the floor so he'll be able to recognise his poo/pee smell and do it on the same spot next time. sounds easy huh but...hehehe all the best...just be patient as he's still just a pup.

but i dunno how to train them to obey to every instructions that i give like shut up stop barking . many people said i over pampered and over protected them so they dun listen to me sometimes Smile

acctually, there r no options that really suited my scenario..

but i did self train, we did actually..

paper toilet training was easy, i dunno y, but dino seems to know thats his place to DO it..

then we train him to come whenever we called his name..

that was quie easy too.. then we trained him to chase and retrieve his toys.. he can also sit when we asked him too.. basicly all the easy ones he can do la..

but i cant train him to shake hands... how ar?

i train my dogs to hand up its hand whenever i said 'hand' and i'll give my hand to her to shake...

at the beginning u must train your dog many times a day so he can remember the command...after u said the command u should hold his hand and shake it...and dun forget to praise him good boy Tongue

i'd train my dog for almost 4 months using this method...i think its really work cos i've been using this method for her puppies too and they manage to do it Laugh

remember be patient...train him many time a day.i think about few months later he should read your command

Wink i managed to train my 6-month old Toffee - sit, down (lie down), hand, up (sit only on both hindlegs), stay.. and of course NO this an NO tat. i'm trying to teach to roll around now.. hmm... not as ez though..

currenly i'm using the words like "kai-kai" means go for a walk time, "pom-pom" - bathing time, "mam-mam" - food time. ;) n hey.. he seems to be very sensitive to the words "bye-bye".. everytime i say these words, he'll definitely rush to me, and grab my legs and won't let go. so i guess the next time i wana leave him at home, i'll just have to leave quietly. ;)

Toffee yea yea...

Train myself, socialise him myself. Read books etc. What I can do myself, I will do it myself.
