hi,

even Aibo also can bark. a dog that can't bark is not even comparable to a lifeless aibo.

I came across a person who purchased an adult dog of about 4 years from a fellow exhibitor and she told us that how come her other bark like crazy and this one did not bark at all for four months since she took him home.

I too know a breeder who debark all his 20 odd dogs.

Devocalization is a complicated procedure and the point is there are still some VET who are willing to help these ppl to debark their dog for the sake of money.

So who is the main culprit ?

i think the vet plays the most important part. they can choose to refuse the job if they have thought about the animals, but they did not and proceed with this terrible procedure for the sake of money.

yup... if the vet is not doing anything to help but instead is doing the devocalization because of money then that is the root of the problem liao.

LaughLaugh NO NO NO NO !!!!!

ban the devocalization thing .. it's not right.. even dogs have their rights too... try to stand in their shoes , what if we have been devocalized, and can't talk .. how would our life be.. imagine without them barking to warn us from strangers, and and to communicate with other dogs and expressing their feeling, this would have been a disaster to us ...

i just can't imagine if my mithcer boy is not there to entertaint me ... i would have bored to death ... Frown

hello to all,

i don agree on debark, cut the ear, chop the tail... etc.

but there r some pure breed dogs like doberman & rott weilers tht being modified to achieve the look v the method stated above (or correct me if i'm totally wrong, pls), then, wat do u guys think bout that?

It's so cruel to debark them. They are born with the barking sound that they made to let us know what they want sometimes. If they don't bark, of course they aren't a dog anymore. Just leave the way they are. You know what, sometimes they could alert you if there are thieves in the house. you won't know someday your furkid will help you out...who knows??

de-bark, de-bark........ Hmm, how crazy is that?! u wanna own a dog, but don't want the barking, it is just like u eat wantan mee without wantan, eat chicken rice without chicken, switch off the volumn while listening to the music, wanna walk but refuse to use your legs, how odd is that??

i heard that a country beside us, someone over there de-claw their cats too. yucks........

do ppl still call themselves an animal lover after letting their poor pets go through all these?? i'm doubt

i still remember what the vet told me when i told him i fail to get Goldy's cert. "castrate himlah!" S**T! nonsence, he's not a blue blood from any royal family, why doesn't he castrate himself??

then we better buy soft toy rather than keep dog if like this, some how soft toy wun pee n poo around. I think some ppl also feel that their neighbour r noisy but can we ask doctor to devocalization them? we should b fair to all creatures, i love to hear dog bark(ofcos not barking all the time), it show their emotion as well.

dogs bark for a reason.like human,we talk because we want to communicate..

If a dog's barking activity bother us so much, why get a dog? Might as well settle for fishes as pets.Or maybe a Tamagotchi?
