What is a better term for a Mongrel in Chinese? Can't Post

Hello,

Just wondering what is a better term for a mongrel in Hokkien? When people ask what type of dog I have, I would use the word "Paxxxx" without much thought. A friend once remarked that I was being mean for using that term. Honestly it is just a slip of the tongue as I do love my dog very much, thanks.

i have 2 mongrel at home.when ppl ask, i will introduce them as tu2 gou3.means local breed.
in taiwan , they call mongrel as mi3 ke4 si1 means mixed breed.

=======================================

You may find homes for all of your pet's litter.
But each home you find means one less home for the dogs in shelters and rescues who need good homes.

Yea I think Tu Gou is good. I like that. It means dogs born locally and brought up locally.
hmm.....sounds weird. Then a lot of pedigrees that born locally and brought up locally can be called tu gou too? lol...
hmmm.....
