To All out there buying dogs. I was very disappointed when buying dogs from Petalling street in KL. My family bought a min. Pinscher from the shop without our anknowlegement. Within weeks the dog develop distemper and die. To make things worst we had 5 dogs at home, and unfortunately my sister SHih Tzu got infected and die soon after. So I am out to warn about buying dogs from that area.
The shop you mentioned is most popular and famous for Parvo & distempered dogs. All members are fully aware of it. Considered yourself lucky that you only died two dogs. Should have checked with puppycom earlier. I am just rather being nosey, about your remark -"Within weeks the dog develop distemper and die."- Can you remember if it is 2 weeks, 3 weeks or plenty weeks? Thanks for the warning!! BTW, you registered yourself on April 3 and despite of that, your family is still patronising that shop? while puppies were dying left right and centre in that shop?

As a thumb of rule, the virus should be harmless in 3 to 4 weeks. Meanwhile, wash the area where the 2 dogs had died and visited with Glorox ( household bleach ) 10:1 .
Wow.. I think I'm lucky! Coz I visited the pet shop there a month ago and saw pug pups there.. I really tempted to buy already, just bcoz that they need to pay deposit for RM200.. I went home and thought about it everyday and nite.. And after that.. I found this website.. haha.. *phew*

Do you still remember that I mention about my friend bought one dalmation from a dog farm? Guess what's happening now........ My pity friend's puppy is in dog's ICU for 5 days now.... yes, it is the distemper case... I asked her whether had she call the breeder and told him about this... well, she said she did but the breeder told her none of his dogs are sick... so, she dare not to ask the breeder more except to comfirmed whether her puppy had it first vacination... She told me that yesterday her puppy did stand up for awhile and the vet told her the chances now is 50-50. Today, she took a day off to clean her house with dettol and bleach... I hope her pup will make it through cos she love it very much.
Yeah Bright Thinking Creature =BTC, I remembered U told me about your friend buying this Dalmatian from a puppy farm. It is difficult to comment on this type of situation. Best you and I could do is to hope for the puppy to get well.
10 parts water, and 1 part chlorox. I usually throw buckets of it around the place and let it soak into the floor for a half hour, and then its time to rinse off. Am very careful and rinse about 5 times after. I don't think I would use chlorox 2 weeks b4 the pup arrives. Scared of giving it skin problems with a too clean floor !
I own a pedigree Lab puppy 1 year ago and it was put to sleep because of pavor virus, i get the puppy from a breeder, and the breeder told me to deworm and got for vacination. Well, i didn't do that and because i thought it was unnecessary. ( first timer and no experience, + no time).
After a yr, i get myself another puppy from a pet shop( where everybody in this forum is talking about- the petaling street one) is a english cocker spaniel. ( no cert provided, they said is a pedegree, no vacination, ask me to kao tim myself). shit....i only came across puppy.com.my 1 day after i bought the puppy.So, any advise for me. Pls forget about the cert from mka, how much i bought it and stuff like that. i m now worried about the health condition of the dog.(for the moment right now, the puppy seems to be happy and active) Any imediate advice for me to take care of the english cocker spaniel puppy. pls help ASAP.
I understand how you felt right now. You must be pretty scared and anxious.
How old is the puppy? Since he has not get any vaccination at all. Why not visit the vet nearest to your place and get vacination? Maybe you can ask for advice from the vet. You can ask the forumers though about available vets around.
Hope that your puppy will be fine off any illness!
Yes, Totally argeed on what joonkeet said. You better go to the nearer Vet and ask for the vaccination. I think is 3 vaccinations for Distemper + Parvovirus.. (1 month once, normally reach 4 months old is already completed the final). I went to the vet near to the Tesco at puchong for the 2nd injection for my pup is RM45.. the place is very clean.. :)

My puppy's 2nd vaccination costs me only RM35. The vet (Indian) is at SS14, Subang Jaya. He is due for final vaccination middle of July.
I brought my puppy to the vet the first day when I got him from a friend and it was a great relief when the vet announced his health and heartbeat (pugs are prone to heart problems) was excellent. The check-up only costs me RM14. ENG Proud owner of George, a male pug puppy Born: 10/3/02
Yes, there are two rows of shoplots, the front row facing SS15 and the vet's clinic is just the row behind it.

Lucky for me too!. Went there last week and I was very tempted to buy a dog there but I was also very broke at that time. I was thinking of getting a dog there when I get my pay end of this month...... until I got to this forum by chance. Phew!
