"hey",

I thought of letting this post slip through but I just CAN"T ... without knowing who you are, this reply I made based on my personal point of view ... after reading your "un-usual" post ... hopefully my reply is not an "un-usual" one!!!

Even the best doctor can't do anything trying to save an old-age people - declare waiting for the time to Rest In Peace, I believe still ... the immediate family member, relative and friend of this old-age people would do their best to cheer up the last moment before letting it go ... for this old-age people may have once sharing his/her moment of truth with them.

Like wise, you dog may have AT LEAST once do you proud or served you in any kind of way ... giving it a jab and send it "home" is always better than feeding it 10 tablets of Panadols!!!

If you still have a good old heart and is concerning to let it die peacefully ... I suggest you send it to the vet and settled by one injection - put it to sleep!!!

Euthanasia may be one last act of kindness you can do to your dog to end his suffering. Send your dog to your VET to euthanise him so that he can be put to sleep in a matter of a minute or two. In this way, your dog will not suffer while you want to end his suffering.

It's just a small little dog. If 10 panadols are not good enough, what about 20?

How much does it cost for the "jab of death"? Hope it's not too expensive.

What about rat poison?

What cruel? You are gonna kill it anyway, it doesn't make you a better person by using different methods.

A jab for a small dog will cost you in the range of RM 60.00. You will need to take the dog back later to bury him yourself.

I had the experience of putting one of my dog to sleep and believe me, that one minute, even though a short moment, is something that will stay in your memory forever. I will not be able to imagine if your dog has to swallow panadols and then suffer for many minutes or hours before kicking the bucket.

Do some good deed and you will be repaid in the future in one way or another.

Is your dog sick or suffering from any serious illness? An old dog doesn't deserve to die JUST because it is old. Well, I can't imagine if future someone kill me just because I am old.

hi puppyman1,

It's very cruel & inhuman to poison your pet intentionally, and hoping that he will die. It will be a very messy situation if someone / some dog die by admitted poisonous stuff. It would be the most bitterest pills he ever swallows!

As what our webmaster Khoo pointed out, it's best to give him a jab. Afterall, it's about RM60.00. and also it's NOT messy!

Puppyman,

Mad Use 10 or 20 tablets of panadols to put your doggie sleep will waste your money too, why not you just start your car engine and knock down your doggie? You can save more money, right ? Mad Before you feed you doggie with 10 or 20 tablets of panadols, you should try to eat 10 or 20 panadols first... let you self know what is the feeling....MadMadMad YOU ARE SO CRUEL AND SOOOO SELFISH !! Puppyman1,

Dear Lord...what are you thinking aboutPirate I would be totally embarrased to even ask such a question amongst so many dog loving friends. Unless your dog is incurably sick or maimed, you should not even consider murdering him/her. Even euthanasia should only be effected in times of lessening ones suffering and not yours. In fact, you should shower more and more love during his final days. How can you even imagine panadol and worse yet...rat poison !!!! What kind of person are you ? Having faithfully served you for 12 years and then when you think he's gonna be too much trouble, you just commit murder. I say murder because it is. I hope that you are not unfortunate enough to one day meet someone who felt that you had overused your good days and decides to feed you 40 panadols and some rat poison too!!! If you still insist on pursueing this idea, I can only say that you will always regret your actions and you will never be able to make things right because your dog would be gone for good then and it would be your guilt to carry.

Second, you people are more cruel! Letting you dog suffer. If your dog could talk, I am sure it ask for death instead of suffering everyday due to old age sickness. You people are too selfish minded to think on behalf of your dog and their sufferings.

Yah..go ahead and feel proud because you made the right decision for your dog.

Because you feed you dogs chicken drumstick makes you or your dog better? Huh....

Re: [leopui] what to do with old dogs? [In reply to] Can't Post

Leo,

Thank you for puting this issue into the right perspective. We shudn't be emotional or get personal with our replies. It can be a shock for many people at the thought of putting an aged and sick anything to sleep. There are perhaps thousands of terminally ill people who go through immense suffering which affects the entire family. Many are still mentally sound to request euthanasia. But still many so-called civil minded people react unsually hostile to this right to request death and even lobby for acts to be enacted to make it illegal. All this while those suffering are screaming for relief. Even then, The prollife simply brush this aside and conclude that the patient has lost his capacity to think right. Thankfully there are evn minded people who have prevailed and in some countries, the right to chose death is legalised.

While a Human Being can communicate this wish and yet encounter a mountain of interference what can an animal do to express like-wise? So we as thinking and humane beings must make that call if we see that the poor animal is suffering and will not recover.

Puppyman may not have expressed his thoughts in a respectable or acceptable manner but I think his intentions are good. So why dont we calm down.

Puppyman, if indeed you wish to put the misery out of your dog, that RM 60 fee for a proper and "painless" jab is the honourable way to go.

It's sad to see that there are such unappreciative people. Your dog is probably the only living thing on earth who thinks you are greatest person in the world, yet you repay him by feeding him an overdosage of Panadol! Panadol will make him suffer, just like humans. He will foam in the mouth, and probably go through convulsions before passing away. On the other hand, you can do the decent thing and pay for an injection. It's relatively painless and quick. Your dog won't realize anything. His last moments would be peacefully spent in your arms.

Think about it carefully. Judging by your thoughtless opinion toward "humane" methods of dealing with old dogs, I don't think you have many peers. Your dog is probably the only one who loves you unconditionally, so you really ought to re-think your attitude towards him.
