Hi My Tzu used to have this problem before. Well, he used to be very excited and and eat as fast as he could. I only gave him kibbles that time because he was only 5-6 months old. Well, I changed the brand of the kibbles later on. Seems that after one month, he seems to be not interested in it anymore. Just like your case, smell it and walk away. Sometimes he just take half of what I offered. Anyway, after almost 3 weeks behaving like that, he got back to normal. What I found out is that I gave him too much amount. Didnt notice that as he gets slightly fatter. Well, I guess that he knows about it and tried to go on a diet. I did make sure that he is normal though, especially his daily routine and stool. SO what I did is to give him the correct amount, which did the trick. The good news is that after that 3 agonizing week for me, he manage to diet himself back to slim side. Guess that even dogs knows how to keep fit huh? Maybe that time its the changing teeth season? That was what causes him to changed appetite too? Regards Joseph Consult a vet. Be kind to pet
