ofcoz u can....but u hv to make sure that he learn his house manner well...

there r ppl who even keep their bullmastiff inside the house....so there's no big deal.....n ur GSD will appreciate ur company.....

but ofcoz make sure that he get enough outdoor exercise, so that he will not be over active while inside the house.....n pacing up n down restlessly.

as for GSD home crate to enable him to sleep comfortably....u will need at least a 4 x 4 feet cage.....

so its impossible to place it in the kitchen.....

or u might consider using pen fencing or baby gate to restrict his accessibility to the house, when u r not around....

but another problem is.....he could hv just jump across those barrier easily...like my dog...

a crate is really useful...especially during festive season when there are lots of visitors or when u doesn't want him to hang around the house without supervision.....the crate is also suitable to toilet training n it will serve as a secure place for him to rest himself.
