Got a question here, I'm wondering how to confirm of identify that GSD's back legs are correctly develop without faults like lack of strength. (Heard from others that this breed easily got this problem)
Hope someone @ puppycom will give me answers. Thanks a lot!
I'm no expert, but here's some tips to spot some obvious faults...
First of all, when your GSD stands still, look at her hindlegs from the back. It shouldn't be turning in at the hocks. It also shouldn't be turning out excessively. As for lack of strength, you should be able to tell if your GSD doesn't trot well. For example, GSDs have a lovely trot - they really push off with their hindlegs... it's the hindend that propels them forward. If your GSD lacks impulsion, then she's probably got weak hindlegs. Fortunately, exercise can help solve that problem.
