PS to FH: (Sally + Pinky & Baby, May, Parents, Alim, lil J + Blondee & Jasper, Jason + Yoda, Harn Ni + Rusty, Wern Nee + Puggy, Ying: 9p 1k 7d) After some hiccups and with the few slaves who were going no matter what , PS’s 1st Anniversary Bash to Fraser’s was set for 30-31st Oct 2004. With the by now well-oiled PS’s organisation machinery in place, post-planning for the trip was a breeze & each slave knew what he/she had to do/bring (of course with some ‘remember, or else?!’ from ps.mama thrown in for good measure ). Just to show that we meant business for this trip, the Friday before, all stayed home (some said, need to pack, need to rest-up, need to get this get that…) as we planned to start early on Saturday. Our little 3-car convoy were to meet up after the Rawang toll at 9am & Jason with Harn Ni as ballast , smsed me to say that they were caught in a little jam at Sg Buloh & would be a tad late. Now, it wouldn’t serve to reply that my well-loaded-pug smelling car with Wern Ni & Ying was also running behind schedule (but of course, it wasn’t cause of me). It’s good to keep the anak-anak on their toes as they were expecting me to be already tapping-my-foot waiting at the rendezvous point way before 9am. I must say that our timings were almost perfect as we all arrived at the toll together so we merrily continued with our journey with just 2 stops along the way. One, at the next petrol station for J to fill-up his car! & others to release some personal waters . 2nd stop was after KKB town, along a designated parking area to let the babies out to stretch/pee/poo/drink. The new straight stretch of highway after KKB town (where they built the controversial dam) was a great help as it did cut down on a stretch of winding roads . We wanted to catch the Gap timing of 11-11.40am & we were right on time, in fact 10mins early so we lined up our cars & let the babies out again to enjoy the cool air (except for Yoda & siBulat who were imprisoned in the car by their lazy slaves who were glued to their car seats! ). This last stretch is less than 15mins and we were there! Having worked out the logistics beforehand, we stopped before Silverpark and my car unloaded Wern, Puggy, Pinky & Baby, so that Ying & I could then go check-in & get the keys keeping our masters outta sight. With this done, it was back to the waiting spot & then straight to the 2 units. First to be unloaded were the excited masters into the lower unit (gathering unit) & Wern was designated to look after them whilst we went back & forth unloading the multitude of stuff we had brought (you would think we were staying for 1 whole week instead of 24hrs ). The masters were happily sniffing around but as the maintenance guy came around to get the electricity going, they were herded like sheep from 1 room to the other trying to avoid detection but I heard that 2 managed to escape the pug-herder & was seen! Once everything was unloaded, it was down to our favourite activity – FOOD! Lunch was re-heated KFC & some noodles/fried rice which were fried from this restaurant there. Weather was fantastic – cool & fresh although it did drizzle a bit on Sat. afternoon (which actually made it even cooler – prefect!). After lunch since we couldn’t go out for our little walk-about, Monopoly was the game. In the midst of this, May’s parents joined us as they came up later as M’s dad wanted to test his blue MG before their Kunming 2004 drive. It was a quick Monopoly as first to bankrupt was Jason, followed by May/Ying, leaving Harn Ni with little cash & 1 miserable property & Wern-da-hotelier holding everything! As the drizzle has stopped by now, we all went out for a walk outside our units hoping to catch up with May & her entourage who had gone out earlier. Did I say the weather was great! Hahahahaha. We could see the masters basking in the cool weather, no ‘HAH HAH HAH’ from HRH Pinky. After this, we all took a rest – some to nap, some to shower, etc. agreeing to meet up at 5.30pm. When evening came around, Aunty asked if she could help start up soup for the steamboat. So then we went about preparing for our dinner. We were to have, yes you guessed right, Steamboat with lotsa stuff, yumm yumm. When Aunty was preparing the stock, we realised that we have brought almost everything except salt. So soya sauce & plenty of chicken stock cubes had to be substitutes. It was fun getting dinner ready & goes without saying that eating was of course, better. HN was tongue-lashed to do the washing up. After dinner, we were just relaxing around, some going out for a smoke, some lying around like beached whales & Aunty was raring to get mahjong going. So I helped her set up the game & when most came back in, they started, Aunty, Ying & Harn Ni. May went off to shower, lil J was pestering BlonDee & Jasper, Wern was on the sofa with Puggy & since I brought my laptop (which was originally for music CDs but of course someone had to forget completely to bring!!! Forgetful twit, admit thyself! At least my laptop was put to use, poor Jason’s powderful speakers complete with central unit, became white elephants! ), I had Jason sit down with me to see if we could get the PS Tee going with a simple design. It looked simple enough but can see that it’ll take a bit of time to get the exact shape of the pug’s head. fter this, I was almost done for the night & was in pug heaven sitting on the sofa with 3 pugs on me. Oooohh I’ve gone to pug paradise - at various times, Pinky or Baby by my side & siBulat on me (gave him some respite from his pest, da Yoda, grrrr grrrrr). Can’t begin to describe how wonderful it felt, hehehehe. We swapped around a bit for MJ, whilst Wern & Jason started a 2-person Monopoly. Couldn’t resist another round of walk outside with my gals & Harn Ni & siBulat. Did I say that the weather was great! Hahahahaha. Also happy that my gals could wear their nice baju to keep warm, especially Pinky who had on this oh so cute knitted x-mas theme dress. Made her look like an elf, Jason said but to me, she looked more like a walking log! I was getting a bit sleepy in my pug paradise mode on the sofa later so decided to call it a night & since my room was just next to the hall, I told HN to get siBulat when she goes to their unit. However, when she did come around, that siBulat refused to go with her & instead of carrying him off, my fiend oh so happily left him there with me! Here I was thinking that siBulat had done with his fugitive run. Ah well, 3 pugs did provide much needed warmth as it was cold . Aahhhh Sunday & trying to sleep in was impossible with 3 pugs in bed cos as usual my Baby is an early riser & last I had a look outta window, it was still dark! Damn! No amount of ‘tsk-ing’ could get her back to sleep & soon siBulat also woke up, so then I had 2 pugs walking up & down the bed & unless I’m already dead, it would be next to impossible to carry on sleeping when Pinky (the pig who would normally be last to wake up) also joined them . Took a peek at my watch, rats only 6.35am lah but what to do. It was 3 merry pugs & 1 surly slave that got up to let them do their biz. Then might as well feed them, yes including siBulat, knowing very well that his slave would be oh so ungrateful. I was then forced to take them out for a walk. So nice so nice, cool crisp clean air. We were still outside when finally slave May with her slave, came out with B&J. Next activity – you guessed it, Breakfast . May’s forced labour. There she was busy in the kitchen, whipping up her pancake mix & toasting up bacon-wrapped wieners – yumm yumm again. Didn’t know she was that domesticated, creative too with the bacon-wrapped wieners . Unfortunately we also forgot to bring a flying pan so her pancake presentation was a bit burnt & sloppy from having to improvise with what we had. Breakfast was, apart from the above, soft boiled eggs, cheese on toast, ham, bread, coffee, tea, hot choc yumm yumm. Had to wake up some sleepy heads to come down for breakfast. After breakfast, we all went for a drive to the waterfall hoping to walk our masters at least part way in, which we did. Tell you though, think my gals have never walked so much before in their entire lives combined! Very proud of HRH Pinky I am, the joint supplements (oil form & biscuit form) that I’ve been feeding her seemed to work & her weak right hind leg held out . The puggies all did well unlike Jasper who had to be carried out by May as he was showing his age. Actually poor Jasper was also shivering with cold on Sat. evening & night. Had to babysit him at 1 stage next to me on the sofa with his baju & xtra blanket. After the waterfall walk, it was back to the units to clean-up & pack as we wanted to catch the 12pm time going down. However, we still had time to try to fly lil J’s kite. There was some wind so we quickly prodded May to ‘RUN MAY, RUN!’ Ahhhh now the truth comes out – not only are our masters pigs, their slaves too from looks of the mighty speedy run, not! Now if human muscles don’t work, mechanical muscles was suggested. So, Uncle’s MG with the top down was brought into play. By this time, I was not an actual witness as I went in to clean-up, you know lah, ps.mama always left with the dirty work! However, I do have it from a good source that the PS-Gathering-moment took place here. May, HN & lil J hopped into the MG to take a very short drive to the sunset deck of Silverpark. It’s a nice open space at the highest point. Now here, I’ll quote what M said; We took the car & then decide to drive to sunset deck & try to fly the kite up there. S, it was really really FUNNY. Seeing the kite flew over her & drop right in front of her, u suppose to run with the kite flying behind right? Well the kite ran faster than hn...hahaha It wouldn’t take a genius to figure out who ‘her’ is here . I am berating myself for missing out on this marvellous memorable PS moment, drats, doubt drats!!! Back to our pee-smelling units & Febreeze which we hope did its job. All rubbish collected nicely in 2 big bags, everything looked ok, well almost cos can’t do much about the pugs’ hair left behind, no time to vacuum. When I finished the final checking & got out to the car, May & her entourage already left! Wah, we thought, so fast disappeared, no need us already lah. At least Jason & HN didn’t desert us. Drive back was fine & we didn’t stop for babies or even lunch. The 3 piggies in my car completely k.oed & at 1 stage they were sleeping in a row with Pink’s head resting on Baby’s bum & Baby’s head resting on Puggy’s bum. It was such a cute scene but alas, no pics taken. Finally, thank you all for making the trip enjoyable & fun & great, especially Ying & family for letting us use the 2 units for 1 nite FOC, Wern for the steamboat dinner, May for the Breakfast & myself for lunch . A relatively cheap holiday all in all. Where can get except with pug! A few points to remember: 1. Should plan more trips with our babies during puasa month for easier travelling (less traffic) & easier to book accommodation (less human congestion, too). 2. Each to bring own personal eating crockery (cup, plate, bowl, fork, spoon, knife, chopsticks, etc). ps.mama saved the day when at the last moment I brought the disposables thinking just in case. 3. Febreeze very important especially if the boys are around. 4. PS mop & pail, another must, as well as the 15kgs empty bag of kibbles (excellent as rubbish bag – big & waterproof too). The End, til our next outing. pug rules!
