MIPE March 2003 - Get Together	Can't Post

Hi All,

Do you think is a good idea to have coffee/tea session on the 16th of March 2003, Sunday. On Sunday, i believe all members from Penang should make their way there, so can fix a time for this get together session at 3:00PM or .............

Will it be better if after the MIPE say 6:00PM and dinner ?

Will confirm the time and venue later in my post.

Hi Boon,

I am in too with Snuffy & Archie, provided they have completed the show by the gathering time (3pm).. I enrolled Archie for the minor puppy and Snuffy for the pre-novice trial.

from sunway you take LDP go straight until astro HQ there is very near to MIPE liao is a very straight road you only need to pay 1 ringgit toll.. Smile

Actually, it's 2 tolls, $1 at the Sunway toll, then another $1 at the toll near the Palace of the Golden Horses.

From Sunway to MINES, Sri Kembangan on Sundays.. about 25 - 30 mins. To most Penang people, 30 mins drive is FAR Smile

Bear in mind, there'll be a huge crowd at the show. To get into the MINES building and get a parking.. will take u another 15 - 20 mins.

It seems to me that almost everyone will gather at the MIPE. So we get to meet all at once Smile

The get together time is at 6pm on Sunday? Then for the Penang ppl, wont it be a little bit too late for we have to drive home and we have to work on the next day? Lets make it on a Saturday...

Same question here, any hotels nearby that we can bring our furkids along?

You can take Kerinchi Link, directly from Jln D'sara to Federal Highway, then cut into Seremban highway. I will be going from Sunway D'sara (near Bandar Utama).

Yeah now i'm very confused...so we can use the Seremban/Melaka highway then? Is Mines along that highway coz James tot it was along Seremban highway then someone else told me it's along the north south highway....or was it Kesas? So many highways lar in KL Pirate

MINES is not along the Seremban highway nor NorthSouth Highway or Kesas.. Although KBS's way can lead u to MINES from Damansara, but may be difficult for u since u r not sure about the route..

Hi all,

I contacted a Ms Neoh of Red Fury Tours & Travel, the company which was listed under the accomodation section in the MIPE homepage with regards to the hotel issue. She claims that they can help find accommodations for outstation ppl with doggies which will probably be apartments, rather than hotels. So, you could all come together and share the place... with doggies....

and that is if they are allow our furkiddies into the MIPE hall, otherwise....

I don't believe anyone would want to leave their doggie alone in the room, let alone with other dogs in each room of an apartment. ) The din will probably bring the building down... haha..

The KL members could even come over on Sat evening with their furkids and we can have a party...( can just see it now, a small apartment full of ppl and and a couple of dozen furkiddies....

Hello everyone,

I have ask teik poh about the accomodation for those coming from outside KL. He told me that MKA had arrange with an apartment resort to take us in together with our doggies.We have to fill up a form because they have only allocate 10 rooms for us.It also have a dateline for us to submit the forms.

Its located along Jalan Putra and called Duta something..sorry i dont have the form with me now Blush

It's a 2 room apartment that cost around RM 350 for 2 nites there...

So is our furkids allowed during the trial and competitions?

Hi Boon,

Most of the members would bring along thier dogs... i guess seafood is not a very good suggestion as we need to watch out for our dogs as well... if Jaz sees me cracking a crab, she would proabably want a bite as well! But i would suggest somewhere near and open air so that we can bring our dogs there straight after the show.

Suggestion : you open up a stall with big sign board (WANT DINNER, OVER HERE...) for us to track easily where you are and where to go! ha! ha!... just joking!

Hi All,

Let me suggest the venue..

The proposed venue will be across the Mines Shopping Center / MINES ..in Balakong.

It's only 10 Minutes WALK from the MINES area..

Owner verbally agreed to dedicate a special area (enclosed) for us. I told him.. we have about 30 peoples with more than 10 dogs. (small to mid-sized). I also told him.. it's either 15 or 16/Mar.. DInner time..

This place is famouse for Yong Tau Foo and 'chicken wrapped in paper' ..

Any better idea??

Hi Steven,

Me "kai-poh" a bit here. For the obedience trail, you will need the following:

1. Choke chain or collar.

2. A 6ft long leash.

3. Plastic bags to clean up after your doggie. (Make sure he does not do it during the trails or else it will be a 10 points deduction!)

4. Water for the doggie (It may take a while for your turn depending on the number of entries)

5. I recommend a product called "Show Foot" by Biogroom. This is an anti-slip spray which you can spray on the paws. I remember the last time during the obedience trails at the Mines, me and my doggie almost slipped at certain places of the ring. Note: This is an option item. Not mandatory. Smile

Hope this helps and BTW, what level are you and your doggie entering?

Hi, HCYeap, I am not so sure yet, as you know, Yippi is quite bad temper and really very hard to control in certain circumstance. Even if the show is allowed us to bring our furkids in, I am afraid that he will make some noice that we can't expected (he always do so Unsure

). If you bring Pepper in, may be we can leave them in apartment or hotel. But one thing to consider, is it save???? Please let me think about it for a few days and I will let you know, or do you have any ideas??? I can understand Hui Ling's feeling, for me I also don't want to leave Yippi alone. So kesian leh... I will leave KL probably sunday evening... and I have to bring my mom to chi chong kai to eat kuai leng kou, my mom's favorite Tongue

Hi, Kanger, I used to drive to KL and would like to go to Mid Valley. But you know what is happening, very "pai seh" lah ... I drive towards Mid Valley but could not find road to get into Mid Valley. I spent almost 1+ hour to find a road to Mid Valley but still couldn�t get it. Finally, I surrender Unsure

if you are coming from PJ using the federal highway to KL you have to keep to your left ......you will see an exit is right after a brown color building(pantai plaza)on your left that is the exit to midvalley ...on your right hand side in angkasapuri(RTM)

MIPE is a 4 days show all together, for 13th and 14th of March is only for trade visitor and is not open for public. So 15 and 16 which is saturday (sell penang burger Laugh

) and sunday (sell penang laksa Wink

). The 2 days event will cover conformation, obedient trial and i think back to back.

My case I will come on pending on show result .
If Belle can get to the finals I'll be there for dinner.
But I doubt she will even reach to quarter finals based on the fact that there are so many beagles. Crazy

MIPE 3 and 4 are MKA ABC Show that Benching Area are provided to the exhibitors. The rules (if you read the document they sent to you bearing your exhibitor number) says that exhibitors are not allowed to remove their dog from the show venue until the conclusion of the show. To leave early, you are ask the show manager for permission.

Yalah I just read the document again. Thanks for highlighting it to me. Aiayoh if like that means I have to take 10 bottles of chicken essence. Shocked

Haa haa I was hoping I don't win the finals (actualy no need to hope one sure cannot get to the finals) so that I can go back early. Looks like now I have to hope to win lah (hoping for the impossible) hee heee. At least worth 'the stay" mah.

The show starts @ 9 a.m - 6 p.m on Sat & Sun. Tomorrow, we'll meet around the show ring area @ 6 - 6.15 p.m. Then from there, we'll decide we should walk or drive there...

I'm sorry to inform u guys this late,but i do hope it will help some of u.Went to MIPE yesterday and found out that only dogs taking part in the championship will be able to get into the expo. Will be going there again in the morning on sat and sun as well but might not be able to stay there for the gathering.Do hope to meet up with u guys though.

i would like to say i'm sorry for not attending for the dinner for the very last minute. i had a terrible backache after 3 hours standing in the crowd to watch the show. actually i was not planning to go on saturday since i got this backache the day before saturday. but i promised someone to meet up at that place. but at last he didn't show up as well, and i was very "sian" and pain.
