Re: [hllim] bark, bath, odour, help!

First of all, is the smell coming from your puppy unbearable? Keep in mind that you'll never be able to get your pup to smell like a bed of roses all the time. Once a week is definitely enough for a puppy. The smell could be coming from the bathing process itself. Make sure you completely dry your pup after his bath (towel dry... using a hairdryer will damage his fur, and probably scare him!). If your pup is left slightly damp, he will smell bad later, no matter how good his shampoo smells!
As for barking and yelping, I must say that aragorn's idea was pretty ingenious! I should try it sometime, lol. I suppose that would work, because music is soothing for animals. I know horses benefit from a radio nearby . However, it sounds like your pup's suffering from homesickness. Most new pups will make noise at night because they aren't used to the new environment. It's best to IGNORE him until he learns that barking and yelping will not get him anywhere. It's tough, I know, but trust me, he'll learn to settle in for the night within a few days. Patience is a must when it comes to puppies!
