Male or female dog? Pro and cons? Can't Post

I realised most of the dogs owner opt for male dogs.
And I heard that female dogs are more loyal.
What are the cons of having a female?
What are the pro and cons?

Let me see. I think both sexes are loyal too.

Male is more playful. Male doesnt have heat.

Saw this in the website about Male dog Vs Female dog. www.northstar.k12.ak.us/schools/tan/student/01_02/dog_mushing/femalesvsmales.html

but more people opt for male lor...
i met a pet shop owner who is keeping the female that people don't want. He said, he wants to breed.
For me personally, i go for male because no period lor.
Not so messy.
But never tried female before. Thought maybe get another female basset hound. That will be so nice!

my family members use to have a few male chihuahua before. but i'm not the one who raise them. for me the male tends to pee without squating down and might ended up shooting at the wall.

SmileHi,

well, this is all i know;

male- no period, no need to spay, no hanging nipples, no unplanned litters, no horny male dogs standing during on heat, carries leg up when urine, more playful, slightly disobedient compared to a female, tend to get it's attention diverted during a walk, dominant, prone to fight for territory

female - obedient, attached to the owner, manja, rarely fight for territories, period, gets unwanted attention, messy, prone to bing a breeding machine, more suitable to be a blind dog, can tie it's hair n let her dress up, vain, less hyperactive, normally tame down after puberty.

see, there r pro n cons....it's up to the preference of ppl...i have a female n a male n i tell u both have their uniquenessSmile

Re: [doodle] Male or female dog? Pro and cons? [In reply to] Can't Post

i think depends on the breed lar
ckcs breed as lap dog..........
and many breeders have mentioned that the male dog will fall in love with u while the female ckcs will just love u.
i find that so true......all the male ckcs just like love sick likethat....follow me around ...like canot leave me for 1 minute......especially chequers..
female wan all ...got the mind of their own..but winter which i spend the most time with loves me too bits too....but this take time.....
male will love u without any fail...female have to work for itWink

Re: [nathalie] Male or female dog? Pro and cons? [In reply to] Can't Post

yea...I encounter the same thing as you do...
have one male and one female dane..

for a large breed doggie, male could be very dominant, hyperactive, and agressive. It is advisable to have him trained before he is out of controlled when he is fully grown up.

As for the female, I found that she is very obedient, easy to train, manja,...etc. I think you have mentioned most of them already..

It is up to individual to decide whether to get a male or female....

for me, it doesn't matter...as long as it is a DOGLaughLaughLaugh

Have a Great Day.

Hi,

I'm for females all the way.. I guess one thing that really puts me off males is the peeing. Don't want to have to clean the walls. CrazyUnsure And I don't really like the sight of huge "manhood" dangling. BlushLaugh

hello there...

I almost forgot about this thread.. i think i don't really mind anymore whether female or male.. same?

heheehhe...

Male tend to hump... which I hate it most!!! Mad Female are more devoted.. but I am abit afraid of them when they are on heat... like they will bite when I go near them... (childhood fear)

I don't mind getting another female basset. Saw one.. SO adorable! Will buy her when doodle is 2. hahahahha!

I think female is better for female owner.. since girls like to dress up their dogs... where else male is very rough and macho. Doodle likes to play rough... and got attitude sometimes..

But doodle doesn't lift up his leg... is he going to be gay?!

*aherm* Tongue Some "manhood" very big, long and jingly okay.. At least females ones don't dangle and swing left-right-left-right. BlushTongue

Hi doodle,

don't know la.. no scientific or rational preference, but I just prefer female dogs. Maybe it's because I am female too, and just like to have my dog the same sex as me, and to enjoy the unwanted attention when on heat! Tongue
