How old is your dog? Can't Post

Hi all,

I heard that the smaller breed the longer life, that mean toy breed r the most long life breed among all. Anyone meet or keep the dog more than 15 yrs? Y dun we find out the oldest dog here?

The oldest dog i even meet is a 12 yrs old pug, he really look like a 80 yrs old man, dun know when he pass away, but when the time i meet him, he's really weak n jz lying in crate.

the condition of an old dog also depends on how good of nutrition he got throughout his life..

and most often ppl'd say smaller breeds live longer.. but this really depends and does not quite apply to all breeds i guess.

i once heard of a GR that lived till 15 yrs old.

Re: [NikE] How old is your dog? [In reply to] Can't Post

yeap. what u heard is right Smile the smaller the dog is..the longer its life span(provided the quality of life is good)

the average life span of a Great Dane is abt 7-10 yrs..although some live to abt 12..that's considered really old.

the smaller breeds..like the toys can live up to 20 yrs~Shocked well, read that some where anyways.

A friend's dog..mini poodle mix i think lived abt 18 yrs.

hee hee hee! LaughLaugh

nat's right!

hv to be optimistic! SmileSmileSmile

you know, i read somewhere, somehow, wht u expect of a dog, can happen(reasonable things of course) for example, if u think a dog is smart, he'll be the best (smartest) he can be. If u think a dog is stupid, even if he's smart, he'll meet up to your "expectations" and will never be as smart as he can be as long as his dearest owner looks down on him tht way.

So, if we expect them to live long, they'll try their very best to be the best . Laugh

Yeah... I think I have read one article before. It was about if cats or dogs are smarter. And the conclusion was either one is smarter as long as they do what you EXPECT them to do. If they DON'T then they are not smart at all.

See the point? This is almost the same as our school exam system. Are people smart just because they score well in the exam?! Wink
