PUPPY PHOTOGRAPHY
Professional photographers get great puppy portraits using tranquilizers-one for the dog, one for the photographer. (we're kidding, of course.)Here are instructions for the rest of us:
1. Remove film from the box and load camera. 2. Remove box from puppy's mouth and throw in trash. 3. Remove puppy from trash and brush coffee grounds from muzzle. 4. Choose a suitable background for your puppy's photo. 5. Mount camera on tripod and focus. 6. Find puppy and remove dirty sock from his mouth. 7. Place puppy in pre-focused spot. 8. Return to camera. Retrieve puppy from behind you. 9. Forget about the spot and crawl after puppy on elbows and knees. 10. Focus with one hand and fend off puppy with the other hand. 11. Clean puppy nose print from lens. 12. Take flash cube from puppy's mouth and throw in trash. 13. Put cat outside. Put peroxide on scratch across puppy's nose. 14. Put magazines back on coffee table. 15. Try to get puppy's attention by squeaking toy over you head. 16. Replace your glasses and check camera for damage. Wipe off lens. 17. Look through viewfinder. Jump up in time to grab puppy by scruff of neck and say "No,no! Outside!!". 18. Give up. Fix yourself a drink. Resolve to teach puppy sit and stay the first thing tomorrow morning.
Many doggie cheers,

I love to photograph my older dog She's an absolute angel, and very photogenic to boot! As for the new pup, she'll only keep still if she's pre-occupied with something else. So usually, I'd give her a toy to chew or something. You could also try dangling a toy above his/her head. It's guaranteed to get those ears pricked and will keep the inquisitive pup from checking out the camera lens!
