Changing Teeth & Fever ??? Can't Post

Billy has been losing his baby teeth lately and he is bleeding. Seem to have lost his appetite. May have had a fever a couple of days ago.FrownFrownFrown

Tried testing his temperature using an ear thermometer and it reads 38 deg. What is the normal temperature for a dog ? Shall I take him to the vet ?

Any advice ?

Yeah, he has a new set of teeth now. It was funny when he had very few teeth for a couple of weeks. Poor dog, it really slow down his eating.

Glad to hear that~!Wink

Did you keep his puppy teeth? Coz usually they will swallow their teeth and that's the reason we might not know when they change their teeth. But last time I managed to keep ONE from , toobad...... I lost it when i moved from the house.

Yeah .... managed to find a few. Some was swallowed by Billy and the rest was lost to the vacuum cleaner !

Hi! You probably don't know me since I haven't been to these boards in MONTHS, but anyway, I have a 8-month lab, so I think I can help. When my puppy, Dugan, lost his teeth, he bled a lot. Once we were playing Tug-O-War with his rope toy, and a tooth popped out! He started bleeding, but it went away in a few minutes. So bleeding is perfectly normal, just like humans bleed when losing baby teeth. The age for losing milk teeth is 4 to 6 months, so your dog is just a little late with losing his baby teeth.

I actually got to keep 4 of Dugan's baby teeth! Two I found lying around the house, and two I picked up right after they fell out. It's really funny, because we were all slobbering over him, and cooing to him, and telling him that we were so sorry he was bleeding, and he was just chewing on a bone as if nothing had happened!
