lately, he has been coughing, but its not like a proper cough, something like when you have flam, he only cough one or twice everytime, it has been several day now, im checking his diet and providing lotsa water.

You should take him to the Vet for an exam, to make sure it's not a respiratory infection that could get worse. These are often contagious, so be sure to let your Vet know on the phone that's what you're bringing him in for, so they can put you right in a room & not potentially infect other dogs. It may not be this, but you need to make sure.
