A search team along with Jamie de Beagle was dispatch to Penang on the 17-07-10 (Saturday) to assist Wayne’s family in search for their lost member; Dolly a 3 years old female Pomeranian that was reported missing on the 12-07-10 (Monday). We arrived in Penang Island at 12.00am 18-07-10 (Sunday) and was greeted by Chew (team leader for Penang)… directed us to Bukit Gambier, Gelugor, met up with Wayne and Bryan at a mamak restaurant. Took down some details surrounding this case… went to the scene where Dolly was last spotted, 1000pcs flyers in b&w ready for distribution. Dolly’s belongings such rest mattress and wee wee matt was used for scent identification. Jamie was brought into the house to sniff around... tracking begun; first area was the house right opposite Wayne’s parents house and was circulating along the road, dash towards the guard post (100 meters), but she turned back to the same point where she was going around… took her further into this housing area (only 40 units of Semi Ds), head back towards the house coz this a fully gated place, Jamie move towards again to the same house (indication that Dolly was there), but this unit is not occupy all the time (owner from outstation). Howard, Chewy and Wayne went on with d2d… extended the search out from this gated community, Jamie seems not too interested (she had already indicated Dolly never step out from this housing area). Wayne did informed us on that particular day 12-07-10, some contractors and forwarding agents were right opposite his home and some further down at the back row. Search was called off at 3.30am; we had refreshments and discussed matters, identifying possibilities and planned for the next day. 18-07-10 (Sunday) 7.00am… travel along with Jamie by the side of the main road facing USM on foot, and headed towards some housing estate… by pass few Gardens and finally went into Taman Lip Sin, took a short break at a coffee shop, Jamie wasn’t allowed to go in due to Municipal Council’s (MPPP) restriction,” NO PETS ALLOWED”, but the owner was kind enough to have us by the side of the shop… we moved on after breakfast, headed towards another Taman, and along the way noticed a flyer being posted at a tree; Missing Profile of Crick the Labrador Retriever that was reported missing on the 6-07-10 at Sungai Nibong area. Called up Mr.Lee (owner) and informed him that we are here. The sun was rising (Jamie was tired at same time), Wayne came to picked us up and we went to pay Mr.Lee a visit at his place in Persiaran Pantai Jerjak, Sngai Nibong. Their status so far not many calls received but hope to get one with good news. They still having a Chihuahua named Chivas. By noon, decided to send Jamie back to KL coz already knew the outcome of the search, which she was being picked up by someone at Bukit Gambier… Howard and Jamie de Beagle left Penang at 2.30pm… 5.00pm; friends of Wayne came to lend us a hand to distribute flyers on d2d basis. 4 teams were formed and by 8.00pm around 3000pcs flyers were being distributed on mostly landed properties within Taman Pekaka, Lip Sin, Nipah and few that were link to this Garden. The next few days in Penang was just on recording of statement from various people including those contractors.
