Hello,

it's been a while since i last saw u post.. Smile

well..most of the time the stone would just pass through his system (tht's wht happened with my dog). Maybe you could try feeding him fibrous food to ease his stools?

Re: [RealityDreamer] Eating STONES... [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi,

Thank's for the advise. I had juz went to the Vet and she advised me to feed him Laxapet Gel. This is to smoothen the intestine so that the stone would come out with the pooh. She also said it's normal for the dog to behave normally despite the stones still stuck in the stomach. This is not good for the dog as over time the stone could cause injury to the intestine and cause infection. She said at this stage it would be very difficult to remove. If within 5 days the stone don't come out of the system, we need to bring him in for X-ray (RM 90++)Crazy, and if the stone still inside, surgery need to be done (About RM450++)Unsure!!

If not mistaken, during our school time, I think only cow uses stone to help with it's digestion as they lack the necessary chamical. Dogs don't do thatTongue. I would strogly advise that you go to your vet for further information. Thank you.

I strictly suggest that you don't let your dogs play with stone any more!!! And be a responsible owner to take good care of your pet!!!

Re: [RealityDreamer] Eating STONES... [In reply to] Can't Post

Its called Pica. Eating non-food objects. Sometimes its due to poor diet, sometimes its just bad habit.

Either way, its NOT GOOD. Stop it right away. Put hot sauce on the stones, get rid of them, whatever. They will just build up in the stomach and cause a blockage and require surgery. Some may come out, but eventually, they will cause BIG TROUBLE.

Do whatever you can to stop this behavior, it is dangerous for your dog.
