teeth root infection OR cancer Can't Post

hi, i'm a new member here..

would like to know anyone at here had any problem on teeth root infection with their furkids..

A mths ago, i kind of rescued a cross-breed spitz outside my house n this fellow had a big hole under his right eyes. we asked a vet to come over to check..n the hole is half of a normal scissors size deep n we can see the bone from the hole.

the vet then gave us some medicine see in 2 weeks the hole can close o not..n the vet is suspecting the teeth root infection. so after 2 weeks the hole din close up, n vet suggested for an x-ray so we can know more detail on whether it's the root problem or the worse it might be cancer. X-ray showed out to be root infection n he went for surgery the next day.

those teeth r successfully pulled out with the root along n we're waiting for the hole to heal..but after 2 weeks..hole din close up, n the vet tried to cover the hole by cutting the mouth skin to cover the hole see whether it works o not.

But, 2day he went for treatment, everything was ok, the flesh r coming out well..but the hole which can make the water flow from outside to inside is mouth still not closed yet..

so now we're searching for the reason y the hole cannot close up.

if anyone out there know any vet, had this kind of problem or even have any idea to give..kindly let me know... thousands of grateful...Blush

i've attached some pics of the poor fellow..

I would recommend a 2nd opinion at a more reputable vet if possible. Which vet did u go to? Make sure you keep the wound dry and if can apply aloe vera from the plants. It seems that it will help healing of wounds faster..

dr edmund yeoh in bandar puteri. I have taken a GSD before in a kancil. Unless the dog is bigger than a full grown GSD then I think should not be a problem.

Re: [JoLeong] teeth root infection OR cancer [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Jo,

I would ask you to take your pup to the vet immediately. Pet shops can't give you anything. Dogs which are eick will show the first 2 signs that is not eating and not active.. Eating grass is also a small symptom but varies from dog to dog. Since your dog is still young and maybe have not completed the vaccine and also deworm. It's best to take to a vet asap. Other ways to see is to see whether the tongue/gums is pale and the touch the ears see if they have fever or not. But it's more for experienced owners to see. So do send your dog to a vet asap..

Not vaccinated at all? You better rush there. Very bad signs. Check on his poo and let the vet know..

Hai ! yhtien ! I just saw your forum. Sorry for the late reply. How is your doggie now ? I saw the same teeth root infection as your dog before, there is a very good vet in Kepong, Animal Clinic Centre. He is very good in surgery. I saw him done the surgery before as the same infection like your dog. If you really need help, you can email to me angela3881 @ h o t m a i l. c o m.

Re: [FLK] teeth root infection OR cancer [In reply to] Can't Post

hi hi FLK,

Nvm for the late reply..real thanks for ur reply~ :)
hmm..the extraction of the teeth can be counted as a surgery.
I got him a cell test last few weeks n just his result back this week..n he has to take human anti-biotic to heal the wound. But from the test result, quite a few of anti-biotic suits him..so we might have to try several types. :(
I knew the vet clinic u said..but never been there. I try to give him the new medicine ..if cannot work, then i'll go to the vet in kepong to ask for advice...since they got this kind of case b4.
i have to say Thank You to u first then...in case i really need ur help in future~
Frown
thanks alot...
