The one in the avatar was born january 2006. So that will make him almost 2 years old in 2 months time. This is Rascal. Another one born February 2007. But that one, if u wanna see got to go to my friendster and take a look from there lah ok. This one pulak is Gizmo. Scratching can mean a lot of things.......that's why everyone will tell you, you should know ur dog best! You observer and listen to that small voice in you lah. If you dont feel right, then go check it out. No smell, no discharge, no lesions, no redmarks, nothing at all, means he is OK lor. I'm sure with an infection, sure the skin will be reddish liao. Yeast infection, I would think sure got smell cos theoretically, it has to be a little damp only yeast can grow. U just know it punya lah......2 weeks ago, rascal was diagnosed with ear canker. Basically ear infection which left untreated will eventually become a fungal infection. Prior to the vet visits, I only noticed that he started to have a lot of ear wax discharge, brownish red in color. No smell or anything like that. Just a lot of ear wax. Today I clean, 2 days later lagi banyak. He wasnt in pain and he acted normal to me. Still scratch his ears occassionally and shakes his head and all. Then when I bathed him, i accidentally pulled his ears and he started screaming. The scream sounded like he was in a lot of pain and not just like the scream he would let out when we accidentally step on his ears or legs. So that incident rang a bell and I just knew something wasnt right with his ears already. So after drying him, we checked his ears again and it did smell a little fishy. But we thought it was the ear cleaner that we were using which had a strong alcohol like smell to it. We started to observe him. We realised eventhough he shakes his head, he was shaking it with a lot of care. So he doesnt swing his ears too fast. We started to realised he scratched his ears carefully too so that he doesnt move that ear too much. All that sign just doesnt seemed right, so we took him to the vet the next day. Betul betul confirm ear infection. So the vet had to clean it up and jabbed him and gave him 1 week of antibiotics. Apparently it was an early stage, with early bacterial infection. Thats why no smell. By the time it becomes a fungal infection, he would lose his appetite and stop eating. It's 2 weeks now, my vet is in India but he advised us to continue with the ear drops till he comes back next week and we will bring him in again to have his ears cleaned. So, don worry too much lah. You'll just know it when something isnt quite right with ur kid. Other than that, they are perfectly fine at being just dogs! Hey they are suppose to be therapeutic ok. Suppose to lower ur blood pressure not the other way round lah. *Rascal's Philosophy "Will give the world up for a good nap" Gizmo's Philosophy "Mine Mine Mine. All is MINE. Sharing is caring..? Whats that?"
