Only empty the anal sac when you see your dog rubbing their butt on the floor or when they chasing/bitting their tail & butt area.

old man dare not do this to a pitbull, in thailand the dogman will add plant fibers into the food regularly to avoid same problem.

Hello all! this is an interesting subject.

The anal sacs serve more purpose in the past than modern domestic dogs. the secretion from this sacs is brown, thick and has a foul odour. As the dog defecates, this secretion is discharge together with the feaces.

In the olden times, it was a way to mark their feaces or to communicate with others animals.

some websites said it's for self protection too ( like skunks )
