SILENT PROTEST on Sunday at 10am. Central Park, Bandar Utama

Please see cleopatrathelabrador.blogspot.com for details and latest update and information on this protest.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Thanks everyone who has updated their blogs with the latest news from my blog. I would however really appreciate it if you could link back to me. The reason for this is because I am constantly updating these posts, and I am wasting alot of time checking your blogs to tell you of the updates. So it will be great if you can mention the updates, but to inform your readers to check Mad About Labrador Retrievers for the latest news. Please this is vital to save time and effort and to ensure that everyone has the right information.

Re: [natasha_fernz] Dog Catching Competition? [In reply to] Can't Post

As always there are letters supporting this 'competition' being sent to the newspapers, and the message portrayed by these letters have invariably been 'if dog lovers love dogs so much they should go out and catch the strays and keep them in their own compound'. As much as I think that these ppl are ignorant/short sighted I cannot answer as I have honestly not done any 'charity' work for dogs - orphans plenty dogs no.

As such can someone who actively runs a pet rescue or someone from the SPCA please reply to these letters, detailing what measures have been done to spay and rehome unwanted puppies.

It might not sway the minds of these selfish individuals but at least it would highlight to the public that dog lovers have been doing the 'correct' thing and that the council is taking the easy way out.

Cheers

Dear Madmoz,

It is unfortunate that so many people are so narrow minded, and I am sadened that some of these people are so called "dog lovers" too. These "dog lovers" only care for their own dogs and not any others. They will only react to this competition if their dogs are caught...

As I have mentioned before somewhere, "All it takes for evil to triumph is for the good people to do nothing"

I have written a few things on my blog and people can read it there if they are interested. Because at the end of the day, it's not just cruelty to animals, it also boils down to the destruction of humanity and morality of man-kind.

In the mean timeI would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who turned up to support our cause at the MPS today. It is greatly appreciated.

Photos, and updates on the handover of the Memorandum and the Petition Signatures on my blog

thanking everyone for their continued support

Hi all...

Malaysia Kini wrote a pretty decent article on yesterday's handover. Have posted it on my site, as it's a subscription only article...

See http://cleopatrathelabrador.blogspot.com for the story.

In the mean time, Immy... yes it is ridiculous that they feed the dogs 3 times a day and wash them twice a day... they can't even lie properly... sigh.

come to work- go breakfast- feed dog breakfast-then go for break- then bath dogs- feed dog lunch- own lunch time- come back bath dog-go tea break- go home - n come back at night to give dinner?????????
*oohps...havent even manage to put in clean the cage!..n gossip session

i told my friends and they laugh like hell..what a bunch of clowns
this is very tight schedule.. they are not that hardworking!!...n i am certain they will not hire a few person just to take care of the dogs..

Hi Immy...

You can actually leave long comments after EACH post on my blog... you just need to have a google account to leave comments... Click on the PAW PRINTS link after each post to leave longer comments...

And yes you are right in that we cannot believe these clowns. They have no idea what they are talking about. A friend of mine commented that they might have just said that because they have no idea how to look after dogs, so they think since humans eat 3 times a day, and bathe 2 times a day at least -they will just pretend that they do the same for the dogs... What a load of bullshit if you ask me...

Anyway guys, remember to come support us tomorrow at MPS at 9.00 am. For latest updates, visit my blog as usual...

Selayang dog-catching competition scrapped

The council has done their part, now its our turn to show them that dog lovers are not "No Action Talk Only"

Re: [madmoz] Dog Catching Competition? [In reply to] Can't Post

Madmoz,

You're absolutely right... alot of us have put our heads together in the wake of this emergencu and have showed that together we can work and make a difference...

Majlis Perbandaran Selangor has scrapped the Dog Catching Competition. All dog lovers and animal rights defenders can now breathe a huge sigh of relief.

The Coalition of Animal Lovers Malaysia (CALM - literally formed by regular people in response to this nonsense) would like to thank each and everyone of you for your support over the past 10 days or so. The Selayang Council has scrapped the dog catching competition today, after coming under heavy fire from animal rights groups such as the SPCA, ROAR, PETPOSTITIVE, MARPO and CALM.

However, we could not have done it without the contribution from each and everyone of you. We would like to thank all animal lovers who took the time to sign the Online Petitions, attended the Peaceful Protest, attended the handover of Memorandum & Petition Signatures, and took the time to be present at today's unruly meeting with the MPS. We also thank everyone who has taken the time to blog about it and to link to Mad About Labradors to keep your readers abreast with the latest news.

We would like to thank everyone who wrote in to the press. All the letters that you have written to the press, published or unpublished, caused this issue to be given unprecedented attention in our local media. This competition could not have been stopped without all your efforts and also prayers. Thank you all for having a heart...

Will be posting post operation Stop the Dog Hunt News on my blog... In the mean time, to everyone else, to know what really transpired at MPS, and to see what kind of people that we have on our local councils who are supposed to be working for us taxpayers... see http://cleopatrathelabrador.blogspot.com

Thank you everyone for your invaluable support...
