The Very First Time	Can't Post

My Shih Tzu now is 1 1/2 year old and she just started her first period. My questions are

What should I do?
How long normally does it take to stop?
Is it normal that the part is swollen?
Do I need to give her extra food during this time?
She seem tired is this normal or is she suffering from pain.

This can't be her first heat if she is already 1 1/2 years. More likely to be her third heat.

1 Clean up after her and keep her away from male dogs.
2 The bleeding should stop after 10-14 days. She will start ovulating soon after that and be fertile for a week or so.
3 The wee wee place should be swollen.
4 Can give her something extra because her body is under some stress.
5 Not sure about this. She should not be in pain, if she seems to be, better take her to the vet.

not all women hav mood swings during their MP. not all women will hav stomach cramps during their MP too.

and as human is more complex than canines, i tink canines mostly wont hav also la
