I think bathing a beagle a few times a year may be more applicable to "mat salleh" weather. For me, I bath Bodhi around once every 2 weeks, so that her natural oil is preserved. Beagles have very sensitive skin and they need their own body oil to protect their skin. If you think Snowy is starting to smell a bit, just rub her body with a wet towel. If you keep Snowy indoors all the time, then I think you can even bath her once a month. For example, Bodhi is on heat at the moment and I didn't bring her out at all for the last 2.5 weeks. The last time I bathed her was about 3 weeks ago. Eventhough she's on heat, she's still relatively clean and doesn't smell bad at all. You just have to clean their ears every week because the bad smell actually comes from the ears. As for grooming (nail clipping, ear cleaning, bathing etc), you must first get her to associate it with good things - that means food or toys. For me, I give her a small treat everytime I clip a nail. So, Bodhi knows that the sound of her nail being clipped will mean she gets a treat. I copied this method from the clicker training method. After a while, I clip all the nails in one paw and then only, give a treat....slowly, I only need to give one treat, after all her nails are clipped. Same goes for cleaning ears. Since Bodhi is so fidgety, that's the only way which worked well for me. Most importantly, don't force them to stay still. Wait for them to settle down, then only continue. Beagles will be beagles. Good Luck
