Dead And Alive Worms? Can't Post

hihi,

I wanna ask if anyone can tell me what the diffence(in effect) of the worms in dog poo poo which is dead and alive/moving, after taking t deworm tablets.

If the worms are alive, will it be dangerous for the dog?

supposingly after u give the medicine (of corse not once) the worm should be dead. Do observe the up coming poo poo, does the worm still alive? if yes, u might not given the dog enough dosage of the medicine. Smile

The worm you see in the stool is adult and not infectious. In order for round worm to be infective, the eggs has to have larval L2 in the eggs and ingested by the puppy or dog. For hook worm, the infective stage is larval stage L3. Can either be ingested or it can penetrate skin of dog and even human. That's why don't walk bare footed on wet grass.

All worms should be dead after poo-ed out of the dog's body. They can't survive outside of the dog's body for long so it is not true to up the dosage of medicine according to that. Strictly follow the instrcutions on how much dewormer to give according to the dog's body weight.
