Help!!! My puppy is afraid of height. She could not climb the stair not even two steps. Each time I try to bring her upstair, she will shiver and shee shee........
Is there anything that I can do to overcome this problem???
I suggest that you bring her to the staircase and try to put her on step by step. Praise her a lot when she steps. Besides, you can also put her in the middle of the staircase for a while but you have to be with her all the time.
However, puppy usually will become braver when they grow, like mine .

I don't think it is afraid of height, probably not used to stairs or non-flat grounding. Try putting treats on every steps so that your puppy will learn to take a step at a time until it reaches the top. That should work.

Am I not relieved when I read that your were answering a post of May's. For a moment, I thought your Kiki has behavioural problems, as she might have picked up some new and fanciful tricks from the Dalmatians, such as midnight, chasing after dog right to the end of street with a bicycle?
Yesterday, for the first time she managed to climb the stair until the end. The day before she climbed 6 steps only. What did I do to overcome her problem?
Well, each time after I bathed her, I'll bring her upstairs, on the air-con and blow dry her fur with a hairdryer. I guess she loves it cos she'll sleep on my laps and let me blow her fur. Then, now whenever I went upstairs, she wants to follow me but I did not carry her......so she try to get up on her own. Finally she succeded....I'm so happy...but now she does know how to come down.
Your post make me recall back when kiddie was 2 mths plus...she was so excited learning to climd the stairs (of course with my encourage up there) but the moment she turn and looked down...... walauerr....shivering all over and crying so loud!
I just have to hold her and carry her down. Now, after much practise, she is expert!
I remember when I first visit the breeder's kennel in Seremban.. I saw 2 cute lil male puggy.. and they are simply adroable.. And that time.. I have no idea which one to choose... coz both of them are so active.. and hyper.. So.. I pick one up.. and take good look on the 1st one.."Hmm.. quiet already seems to be like afraid of height" and the 2nd one.. "Hmm... this one seems to be more active than the 1st one"..
So.. I decided to get the 1st one... and I named him Sunny Macho.. Yes yes... he is really manja.. he stick to me all the way back to KL.. and he enjoying chewing my fingers..
But now... Sunny managed to jump up to the bed.. couch.. chairs.. and even climb the staircase...

Copied this frm ahming, touch huh? "Please don't cry in front of my grave,
I don't mind if you keep a new dog.
I won't angry if you give my toys to others dog,
I will be happy if other dogs can enjoy your love as me."
Mine will jump even I put her on my table. Probably she knows I'll get her. She did fell to the ground once when she was on my chair, yet she still will jump again. I'm more scared than her & I guess that's why she can always jump.
u need 2 weeks to teach Sunny up n down the stairs?
u guess how long i teach my silky (4 mths)? hm........1 day only!!!!!! cos my teaching way is force him down n up. now he become expert already? but sometimes find him a bit hard in climbing the stair cos he is not enough height!
