Hi...

my boy is about 15 months +...should be ready for BH in a month or 2. But unfortunately we do not have any trial locally yet....if u want to get ur dog titled, go up north...do it in thailand.

things are coming within the...but...too slow.....

If you trial your dog in Thailand, make sure the judge is licensed by The Kennel Club of Thailand (KCT) and recognized by FCI, so that the title will also be recognized in your national registry (if they do recognize working titles). There are only two licensed judges in Thailand for Working Dog Trials. You'll find their names in this KCT web site:

I'm one of the licensed KCT judges (Federico "Fred" Alimusa) and Director of the Working Dog Committee for KCT. I'm Filipino-American based in Thailand.

I'm now into Service K9s and work my dogs for PP, patrol, detection, therapy and Search & Rescue. I just help other people train their dogs for the different sports and titles (SchH, BH, Agility, etc.), usually giving workshops after judging the trials, or giving scheduled seminars in Thailand and the Philippines.

An excellent SchH trainer and world-class competitor, who I know in Malaysia is Michael Lee.

SchH is an abbreviation for Schutzhund, then German word for protection dog. The original place where this training was developed; hence, most people still use the German commands.

This training includes the full obedience training, tracking training and the protection training. This class has 3 levels and the third level is the highest and has to be done off leash. You can imagine that it is very difficult to achieve and you could easily compare that to our human degree level

Hi Joe,

Nice meeting u. FYI all phases of SchH trials are done off leashed except for tracking which is done on a long tracking leash.

Well, in Germany the first two classes in protection works are done with the leash and close control from the handler. I prefer this way, since it less aggressive and certainly a lot safer for the intruder, judges and any other person standing nearby.

Joe,

Were u refering to classes or SchH 1 and SchH 2 test or trial? Of course if u meant training session alot of time is spent on long leash for control work and drive building.
