to make thing easy for u .. used the first url to location yr hotel and from then work yr way around ..for yr easy traveling ..
Bangkok also hv alot night market like petaling street .. mostly close around 11 pm .. The first link will also show u where are those night market
RULE OF THUMB for shopping in Bangkok start yr offer price 80% of the seller price .. work ur way to max 50 % .. If the seller not willing to give way .. walk away ..
trust me he will call u back

If I may add, Chatuchak is a definitely must see. Great things to buy for household items but try to avoid the pets section - very sad to see all those cute puppies in cages and looking half dead.
If want to walk on the wild side, go to Patpong. You can also include your normal touristy places like the Grand Palace and the nearby wats - suggest you use the river boat rides instead of by road and if you really have the time, go to the floating market in Thonburi. I enjoyed the National Museum, the Dusit Zoo and Jim Thompson's house.
