We are planning to meet up for a hike with our furkids thru the green hills and streams of Bukit Kiara hiking trail. This trail is roughly 5km long amidst lush green tropical rain forest and some small streams. Perfect to work out those CNY pounds from all that feasting and yee-sang!
The trail is divided into 3 sections as follows:
1. Main gate at the foothills to half way point - approx 15mins @ normal walking pace.
2. Half way point one circuit up and down the hills to come back one circle back at halfway point - approx 25mins normal walking pace.
3. Half way point back to main gate - approx 10mins (due downhill mostly)
Total walking time - 50mins (With some breaks at halfway points ..maybe 1hr or so to complete the trail)
Tips: Wear walking shoes or sneakers & Bring yr own water for yourself and the furkids.
All doggies to be on leash and as usual, be prepared to clean up after our doggies.
Interested? Please let us know here in this forum.

too bad I can't making it; Pepperboy would have loved to join in, though I somewhat suspect that I may very possibly have to carry him half the journey

Hey Arthur
Would love to join in the walk-walk! Sounds fun and helthy as well! By the way, is the Bukit Kiara trail you talk about the one that can also be accessed from Bukit Kiara club? (horse club)?
If we parked in the club, could we still meet you at the starting point, or would we need to follow the map you posted?

Hi Jennifer,
As long as you can meet us at the starting point, it may be better for you to park in the club. You know it is always congested at the public parking place. And yes, this is the same trial that can be accessed from the Bukit Kiara club. I have seen horses on the same trial on several occasions.

Hi HcYeap,
Is Pepperboy still in Penang? Saw some nic pics of him swimming at the beach..That must have been fun. Can he swim or does he have to be coaxed to get into the water..Too bad he can't join us for this walk-walk.
And yes, I have seen several doggies that have to be carried by their owners halfway during the trail. Musta been couch potates! For those that belong to this category, they can elect to wait at the halfway point till the group comes back and meet up again at the same point. Not advisable to push too far too hard, right?

Hi Jennifer,
We plan to meet at the gate. Will post a pic later so it's everyone knows what we are talking about. Do not walk up to the cross roads yet till we gather the clan together and ascend the trail as a group.

Hi Arthur,
Pepperboy is now permanently based in Penang with his mummy because my work has me travelling to all states and s'pore very so often.
When I first took him into the sea, I ended up with scratches all over and I thought that he probably feared the waves. It was only when I was 30 meters out to sea, when I realise that he had overcome his fear and swam out to meet me. That wild eyed, panting look which said," Daddy, daddy... save me!" is one that I will never forget. Since, then...he's been out with me every time with hardly any coaxing and what can I say... MS are great swimmers... MS rules yeah!

oh thats a shame... what about if we made it slightly earlier? Say start walking at 4pm? The walk is quite a shady one, coz there are shady trees with big canopies on both sides of the trail.

Hi Gina!
Wedding dinner huh? Kena saman so fast already ah?
Still we can take up Jennifer suggestion to start 1 hour earlier say 4.30pm. This way we can be done by 6pm or so. Those that still have energy left can proceed further to the nearby Taman Rimba Kiara to cool off under the shady trees and the nice jogging track that circles round the lake... if not, we go for early dinner/late tea at one of the nearby shops in Taman Tun.
