Hi ...
Whether antioxidents are specifically helpful for HD ... that I cannot say ...
But antioxidents are believed to good for helping maintain general & overall wellbeing & health ... so, I suppose it will help your dog.
Glucosamine is good for hips ... and is becoming recognised as a good preventive, as well as treatment for HD.
For HD, especially in the early stages (or just as general precaution) ... it is good to observe the following:
(a) Monitor food carefully and do not let your dog get overweight ...
(b) With young dogs, do not over-exercise ... Follow basic rules ... do not let your dog jump above its height or go for long jogs until the dog is 12months or more.
If a dog has suspected or confirmed HD, then monitor exercise & play consistently & carefully. Try and avoid exercise & play on cement or hard ground ... grass is better.
(c) Make sure your dog gets balanced mineral (particularly Calcium/Phos) intake during its early development and maintain sensible mineral intake throughout its life.
Is there any good supplement that can prevent or promote healthy hip and joint?
May, glucosamine alone is not good enough if possible get tho combo type with chondroitin as well but very sad malaysia ban from selling combo type for humans. synoquin i think is a good product.....u may add vit c or ester c 1000mg it helps a lot.
