Eyes full of eye dirt Can't Post

I have a bull mastiff and this guy has lots of eye dirt although i clean it daily. Do anyone know whether this is normal or there is something which I need to do. Or is it got to do something with the current temperature. Please advice.

Re: [sk472001] Eyes full of eye dirt [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi ...

Most dogs tear a reasonable amount ... and there will be amounts of eye-residue from the tears ... especially after sleep. But excessive amounts of tearing and eye-residue are not normal ... Without seeing your dog, its hard to say whether the situation you are describing is normal ...

Check this thread: www.puppy.com.my/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=59821;search_string=watery%20eyes;#59821

But eyes are delicate organs ... liable to irritation and infection ... so if you are not sure ... take your dog to a vet for a check up ...

Cheers

Hello ...

KiKi was renamed ... "SugarTeaCup" by me ... Tongue ... But her new owner calls her "Snowy" ... Her new owner is completely devoted to Snowy ... they even sleep together ... Smile ...

Snowy is one of the most affectionate dogs I have ever known ... she is such a special girl ...

Errr ... may have another batch of rescue stray puppies available for adoption in about 5 weeks ... So, if you know anyone who might be willing to give a stray a good home - please let me know... Tongue

Hello surchinmy

Some time ago, we exchanged some information on mange and then on watery eyes. Below is a portion of your post on watery eyes

----------------------------------------------

Sidnee is producing a watery eye discharge (not thick, yellow or pus-like) ... then his eyes may just need cleaning regularly. Some animals have tear overflow caused by blocked tear ducts or mild allergies. Try cleaning the eyes twice a day with a warm solution of salt water. The salt solution is a very mild disinfectant ... and is great for general care.
-----------------------------------------------------

I have been following the regime for a few months. And I am very happy with what I get. Thanks a lot. Oh, she's now a healthy and cheeky pug. Thanks a lot
