To All Dog Lovers..... My name is Kevin, I'm looking for American Staffordshire Terrier. Can someone tell me where can I buy this breed in Malaysia? Or maybe if you know anyone breeding this dog, please let me have the contact or you may contact me thank you.

Hmm.... this breed is rare lah, I read in local pet magazine that can't import Staffies into Malaysia so I'm not sure got breeder or not... Please call up MKA and ask for a breeder.....

ya I know about that, I have been looking for this breed since last year... I guess I have search for it over in Penang and Ipoh but still can't find.

Anyway, I saw a adds headline in The Star Classified... I'm sure there are still breeders in Malaysia breeding this dogs. I need a pair of AST... please help if you come across of this breed.

In Fact... I found that looking for a APBT is much much more easier than looking for AST. What do you think?

If you are looking for APBT, I think is blacklisted & prohibited for importing them into M'sia but not sure for keeping them as pet though. Can't remember where I saw the regulations but will get back to you if I can recall. But nothing was mentioned about American Staffordshire Terrier (AST). Hopefully Malaysia custom classified both the breed under different names.Hope this help! Wink

Hello, I'm not too sure if there's a difference between American Pit Bull Terrier & American Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Hopefully, someone might be able to shed some light on this.

As far as I know, APBT & ASBT are banned from importation in Malaysia. Here's a link for youer information http://agrolink.moa.my/...timp-restricted.html

But I remember there's a forum member who has a Pit Bull or two, can't remember his name, though. I'll keep an eye for you. Anyway, I've seen some ads on The St*r classified section on ASBT.

If I'm not mistaken, I've also seen a Staffie in a pet exhibition held in Mid Valley not too long ago. So there's still some hope to find a breeder. Will let you know if I discover anyhthing.

I've managed to dig out something for you. About the Staffie I saw in a pet exhibition, I can confirm it is indeed a Staffie. In fact, Samson the Staffie won the HILLS SCIENCE DIET MIPE CHAMPION. It was in MIPE 2003, Mid Valley. Here's a link http://www.mipe.com.my/dogcarnival_results.htm

Samson was the most obedient dog that day. I've managed to take some shot of him with my digicam, hehe. Laugh

I see quite a few members have shed some light for you hehehe....So far I've not seen a Staffie in KL, just unlucky I guess.... anyway, call MKA, I bet there might be a Staffie or Pitbull in Malaysia.

Did you get this month's mag? There are 2 pages on the regulations on daog ownership and there's a list of breeds that are not allowed to be imported into the country.....

Hi Vince7, thanks for your info.

In fact I have call a breeder in Kuala Selangor regarding the AmStaff adds he posted in The Star Classified on 29/04/04, unfortunately... the puppy he is having now is not a pure breed. It is a cross breed between AmStaff and Pit Bull. I am wishing to get a pair of pure breed.

When I was in US few years ago, a friend of mine owns 6 AmStaff... since then I felt in love with AmStaff. They are a very brave and faithfull dog, they have being rated as top 20 guard dog in AKC.

Will let you have the BT info when I go back to my mom's house this comming weekend.

Hmmmm.... Yeah, I noticed that only a very few petshops in Penang are listed.

Here are some of the petshops I think might have lah coz their numbers are in side mag's directory:

Ban Leong Shell Products, Crystal Aquarium and Pet Center, K9 Pets, Pet Paradise, D'Petshop

You can try MPH, they might sell it coz in KL, most MPH stores have . This issue also has a small picture of Samson the Pitbull that won in the MIPE 2004.

hmmmm... I wish to know where Amere Singh bought his AmStaff (Samson) from...

I call up MKA yesterday to ask for the breeder's contact for AmStaff, but they refuse to give me the contact... don't know why huh?

Is there anyone out there know Samson's owner? Please let me know if you do.

Hmmmm.... I thought MKA was suppose to help!........Anyway, I'd advice you to look at newpaper classifieds to find one for sale.... And the best way to find a Staffie owner is to go to every dog show in your area if there are any. You might be lucky to come across a breeder like I did.

hi,

i am not very sure how he got samson in. what i heard is that he brought samson from sweden for his grandson. by the way, he is a GSD guy. you should be able to see him in dogshows i guess??? anyway i hope this helps.

If I would to ask them for AmStaff breeder's information, I don't think they will give me the contact, so... I'm going to ask them for Mr. Singh's contact and lie to them that I want to look for GSD's breeder.

Hey my friend... I saw the adds too... he has only 1 pup left, a female... unfortunately, it was a cross breed between AmStaff and APT. He was asking for RM1500.00 for a female pup and RM1800.00 for a male pup. What do you think? I think it is very expensive... infact it is too expensive for a cross breed pups.

Anyway... I have a friend from SP has 9 APT puppys for sales now, intrested let me know.

Hi RealityDreamer... The samson that you mentioned was the one that was in Mid Valley... If I'm not misstaken the owner is Mr. Amere Singh, anyway, I'm not too sure about that.

If you have Samson's owner's contact, kindly SMS to me... I can't wait any longer....... just feel like want to call him to ask for more information on AmStaff.

I'm sure you guys will like AmStaff if you really understand this breed, they are a very brave, faithfull, tough, strong and yet a very gentle dog, especially those who has children at home, I will strongly recommend this dog as a pet and as a guard dog. Trust me.... I have stayed in US before, my friend owns 6 AmStaff, and I have followed him to their National American Staffordshire Terrier Event in 1994...
