Oh hello!

Well, I have to say that I really didn't expect the breed to be so beautiful in attitude. This breed of dog is all clown and guard. They love you all the way, beat him, scold him he will still be a smiling dog. I'll try to add some pictures. Wasn't my choice of dog at 1st but when my family went to see the breeder, wah Laugh

..... fell in love straight away with the breed!!!! So brought our 1st boxer home, then couldn't get enough of the boxer love so go and get another one.

What dogs do you have? Hope to hear from ya! Wink

Oh, your Tyson so wise lah. Mine is only 5 and 4 yrs, Rexx and Toby. Rexx is a brindle with white belly, white paws, white chest and a white stripe in between his eyes. Toby is fawn with a white collar, white belly and chest, white paws and a bigger stripe of white from his forehead and a white muzzle with black mask. My boxers have natural ears.

Yah, all macho man outside and a big gentle giant inside. I love their personality and that big slobbery doggie smile of theirs hehehe..... They love to use their paws, mine knows how to give me a big punch in the stomach and a pat on the knee. They also know how to push and pull open the gate with their paws.

What other dogs you have? Or is Tyson the only dog in your life hehehe.... Tongue

hahahaa... i want to see your boxers!!! next time got gathering bring ah... i dont find much boxer fans these days too lor.. but ya.. they have got real character... but i cant take tyson out to gatherings also.. cos he is quite aggresive with other dogs.. but at home.. he's a real scardy cat..

oh.. i have 4 dogs now... Tyson is eldest, then Popeye (3 yrs MS), Harvey(2 yrs GR), followed by Roxy (she's in the avatar...at 11 weeks maybe..) Roxy is probably a mix.. but we dunno wat.. cos we adopted her...

i send u tyson's pic.. hehee u see garang or not...

Wah, looks like my Rexx lah, except the white muzzle lah, caused by ageing right? My rex now have a light sprinkling of whithe fur on his muzzle hehehe.... Aiyoh Unsure

my boxers are just like your Tyson, mine are not very socialble and quite hard to take them to outings coz they go crazy in the car hahaha.... even bringing to the vet is like wrestling with bulls Laugh

They don't bully me in the car lah, they just bully the car... you should see the windows.... all saliva!!! But at home ah they sure very gentle....but they are vary of strangers lah, they've turned into guard dogs somehow...

Wow, 4 dogs also! MS and GR... so cool! Roxy, what does she looks like?

Yeah, I don't see many boxer fans, a lot of poodle, shih tzu, pug, labbie, MS, GSD and rottie people here. Hey, maybe one day lah, I invite you to my house so you can see my boxers. I live in Setapak. How bout you?

I must have the youngest boxer then...my good friend karina (she's a member here too) has 2 boxers...actually that's how I got into boxers. Always liked them, but watching karina with hers made up my mind to get one.

Just curious - you were mentioning you got yours from a breeder. Is the breeder still active? I would like to see if your breeder has any more boxers I may be interested in.

Oh and my boxer loves travelling in my car...kinda weird.

Yup, my boxers are from breeders, one of them is a very well known breeder and all his dogs are champions so he has very good quality dogs. You can try calling MKA for breeders with boxer pups now or you can call the breeder I bought my boxer from, Mr Donavon Wong 03-4929988. This number I last called was 5 yrs ago, I think it's changed.... try MKA and see. He'll probably sell you a puppy around RM1200 above....

My boxer likes to sit in cars. Travelling ah.... one messy adventure. When they were pups it was ok but when they grew bigger, my dad had to get a MPV to bring them around and the car will be covered with doggie saliva and boxer smell hahaha....

I'm actually trying to get back into Shar Peis...much as I love my boxer, I want a shar pei again, so getting another boxer is not such a huge priority. But yeah, it's always good to get from reputable breeders. I got mine from PetsWonderland and it was really quite expensive because he was imported from australia, hence the dumb blond surfer boy name (Bodhi).

Bodhi's almost fully grown but really doesn't salivate all over my car interior...which is a good thing cuz it's a really nice car with leather interior hehehehe. He kinda just sits there and is very curious about the traffic around him. If it's a longer drive due to jams or whatever then he just lies down and naps. Was very surprised by this as Karina's boxers do not travel well at all...they get carsick.

I've actually been trying to persuade my friend to bring the boxers to my restaurant on weekends cuz I have an outdoor area under the trees which is nice in the evenings. Wonder if it contravenes any health regulations.

actually, last time tyson very sociable with other dogs..cos we took him camping with other dogs and all is fine.. but after awhile we got busy n didnt.. now he is not very friendly with other dogs lor.. if u get the chance.. u shld socialise your dogs as much as you can... i bring all my other dogs out to meet other dogs.. after awhile, they r not so jakun la. hehee.. tyson is usually stuck to a tree with me during gatherings.. hahaa..usually the guys will come n pat pat tyson n admire him.. hehee

eh.. rexx likes to jump or not?? cos when tyson wants to play he will like to jump up and down like silly boy.. Laugh

Hi you

I really love Boxer and wanted so much to get one. Unfortunately we were told that the Malaysian government has banned ppl from getting Boxers from overseas. I used to stay with an English family and they have a Boxer named Lucy. She is beautiful, really big and tall. She is also goofy and entertaining.

However, is it true that Local boxers are usually not as big and tall as the ones from Europe? I have seen plenty here but really they aint bigger or taller than Lucy.

Now we are settling with a Rotweiler because Scott just love that breed. He has been having Rotties for a long time now. Though our Cody is no comparison to his champion bloodlines Rotties in the past (Cause Cody is a small male), we still love him anyway...*lol* He is however compensating what he is missing in size with his strong mind...

Boxers love to paly. It would be nice to get a playmate for Bodhi but I'll advice you to get another female, not male as they will fight for ranking. Mine fight and has been enemies for 2 years. Boxers mature at the age of 2. A year old is like a teenager hahaha.....

All my dogs don't get carsick, they love to travel around cars and yes, mine loves the passing traffic. Some passing cars were surprise to see a boxers head at the back of the seat. We have a Kangoo mpv so it's a very good car to take dogs around.

I think you bought Bodhi at the wrong place, too expensive and white coloured boxers are rejects, they normally sell these whites as family pet with a low price coz there is no value as a show breed....

Hey, where is your restaurant? Maybe can come by and yam cha hehehe....

Hehehe.....yah, I've been licked by him and Toby alot. Rexx is the sweet darling, likes to put his paw up for you to shake it and is very fierce looking. Toby is the joker, like to bully me and only me!!!!! Scary ho... the saliva thick thick like egg white eww.....

Normally dogs are afraid of going to the vet, my RExx loves going to the vet. And when he see Dr Gosh.... wah!!!!!! He jump and bark and wag his small tail like mad.....???? Oh, he jumps like a goat but hits you like a cow hehehe.... They all tend to look a little silly during play, rite?

Oh, this picture has my 2 boxers, not a very current pic.... I think 4 yrs ago coz I haven't found the time to take any new pics yet... Will be taking many new pics soon, rite after my exams Sly

Yup, there is a size difference with the boxers. Currently, the boxer breed has American boxers and German boxers. Americans are larger a bit and their muzzle is a bit longer. Germans have a nicer squarer head, a stout hard body and a shorter muzzle. It's very hard to see the differences but no one care coz they're all boxers and are shown under boxers. My boxers do have a size difference, one is maller boned but has nice features while the other is larger, big boned witha nice posture/ stand, both came from good champion lines. Both my boxers are good enough to participate in dog shows but I've not enough time as I'm a student, plus I my dogs have natural ears so the chance of winning is low and they've not gone out to socialise enough coz I stay in a Malay area....

Hmmm... I have not heard of this ban..... Oh, I'm glad you love boxers. They are just so wonderful!!! Your Cody looks beautiful. Before getting boxers my dad wanted a Rottie but my mom told my dad off.... she didn't like the breed... don't know why?.... So we bought a boxer instead and fell in love with the breed.

You seem quite fixated on calling white boxers rejects. Just to make my point again...the value of the boxer is not paramount to me as I do not care about shows and such. Nor do I care about breeding my boxer. What I bought the boxer for is for what is was...a non-traditional boxer who is of higher quality than a lot of boxers in the country. Besides, if everyone were to reject animals purely based on how closely they adhere to AKC or whatever standards, what do we do with the rest? Kill them?

BTW - my restaurant is across the street from Istana Hotel and Wisma Genting :) I won't mention the name here <G>

Well, I see you are a very down-to-earth boxer fan. I don't have anything againts boxers lah, is just that I don't like seeing petshops getting so much profit...... And I agree with you, boxers are boxers by all means, show quality or not. I like them as family members, I don't show them but I know one might be a handsome show dog lah because many people who have laid eyes on him wants him as a stud but can't coz he's neutered. I know many breeders are breeding for money, before I got my 2 boxers, I went to a breeder in *** and it was the worst thing I've seen in my life. It was a piece of muddy land with many many various breeds of dogs.... all locked up in cages. The guy wanted my dad to buy his boxer pups and guess what...... it had missing toes on 2 feet and was limping and had an MKA cert!!!! Then he tried to get my dad to book his 'special breed' which was a st bernard mix great dane, saying it was the best breed of guard dogs..... GILA!!!! We went off straight away..... I could tell he was making money but can't report or do anything coz he wasn't mistreating the dogs...... Frown

I don't like to call dogs rejects... just that couldn't find a better word for it, sorry if it made you angry.... I know they are not albino, it's a colour problem. Both parents could be great coloured dogs but out of the few litters of pups there is bound to be one that is white or with small patches of colour. Boxers have to have at least some white but no more than 1/3. I know in Australia, breeders are againts killing these whites so they make sure to find good family homes for them.

Missing toes? Just like the 'shar pei' I saw in Brickfields years back with 2 broken toes...poor thing had the broken toes, was in a cage, with no solid surface to rest on so the paw was so bengkak....they tried to claim it was pedigree...I grew up with the first generation of shar peis sent from Hong Kong in the early 70s and knew it wasn't pure...not that it mattered but it looked more like a weird shar pei/bulldog mix...

Asking price (and remember this was like 4 years ago)....RM2890...

I was also told by most vets I've been to that MKA certs aren't really worth a hell of a lot...no offense to MKA or anything, but the puppy mills are sophisticated enough to forge foreign kennel club certs too...holograms and all. Or it's also common to 'borrow' another legitimate dog's MKA cert and number...happened to my friend (the one who now has boxers after people stole her ACS and ECS)...scanned chip number did not match the one on cert...

I swear lah, Malaysia quite tricky when it comes to the dogs...

Oh.... just now didn't see mah... hehehe... I'm damn blur today....

There are many cases lah, these 'people' and puppymills trying to seel dogs with fake MKA. But that missing toes place was actually a number given by MKA when I called. That was like 4 yrs ago so I can'y remember that place...... I once read a report in the newspaper, puppy snatchers are becoming very very smart. A breeder has very good and champion line rottie pups. He advertised in calsifieds in newspaper, later a guy phoned and said was interested with buying a pup. Gave the add and the breeder thought, 'good. got buyer'. Then the breeder had to go out for a while so left the maid in charge of the house. He didn't know that the 'buyer' and partner was outside waiting for him to leave the house. They entered the house, told the maid that they were interested buyers. Maid was confuse so went to phone the breeder, 5 minutes later, all the pups were gone. The 'buyer' was seen selling the pups by the roadside.

So it is always best to get dogs from well known breeders that breeds only one type of breed.... that's my way lah, if not, import one! Smile

hehee.. boxers look fierce but if ur family.. they very manja also... my mom used to say he very funny.. cos if we want to scold oredi he cry baby... but as they grow older.. my ty became more vocal.. very opinionated.. barks back at me when i scold him.. or he is waiting too long for me to take him out..so demanding Unsure

Yahlah.... they very manja with my mom... especially Rexx, he'll sit and make this very sad face.... then if your holding a piece of food.... Wahhhh.... you can the salive dripping down non stop!!!! Like a waterfall!!! Toby is very vocal, when we have to chain him or leash him he will make this howling and barking sound while trying to mouth my hand. Then he will jump and give me a biog punch in the stomach.... all play but sometimes too much for me...

Yeah, Toby has this problem, vet said it's normal. He's skin is pinkish around the white areas, especially his paws and mouth. Rexx had this really bad skin problem when he was pup because of food allergy. We fed him on kibble and there was this outbreak of little bumps. Vet thought it was mange but did some test to confirm. Tried all kinds of dog food... no improvement so we cook his food instead. And he has to bathe in special shampoo.... guess what shampoo...... the soap surgens use to wash their hands befor surgery!!!! Can only get Smile

it in selected pharmacy, was recommanded by our vet and it works. Now Rexx skin and fur is just beautiful....
