oh was thinking to have a :-

1. Puppycom Dog Shelter - Got PAWS oredi plus it costs a lot of $$$ to keep such a shelter (food, staffing, elecity cost, etc) running

2. Visit (theraphy dogs) to orphanage - This is a fantastic ideaCool but have to make sure there are NO muslims at those placesUnsure. Suggestion would be orphanages run by churches, temples, etc

possible write in Majlis and rent a dod friendly park?

Members growing here and I guess we don't mind paying some fees to the park monthly.. and build in some agility toys in slowly.. somewhere can have fun / training (like SAR dog?) .. hehe

just a thought.

GREAT ideas u have over there !!!

*mocha, summer n lightning's paw's up in agreement*

Let me add in another one more can ?

Community service.

For eg : We utilise the Gasing hill (nearly) on a weekly basis for our jungle trekking purpose and I would love to join our puppy.com gang and the Friends of Bukit Gasing to do some community work for the hills eg : cleaning up the stream and etc.

This would help in promoting puppy.com and the doggies presence in the community.

the community service is good...a contribution to society and also doggie awareness to lessen "anti anjing" sentiments....

slow and steady. malaysian's general impression of dogs has improved. we need more time and patience.

so seriously, is puppycom doing anything on awareness this coming 23rd?

well, at times slow n steady is not good lor.... being too slow will not help the doggies esp with MPPX trying so hard to put up so many signs that forbids our lovely pet outdoor. Crazy so we gotto be proactive to help the community so that our doggies have better awarenesss and of course being a responsible dog owner will help the cause too Wink

1. It is true runnning a shelter is expensive but this was mydream until now... I had wish to have my little farm to have all the dogs wandering around and a few of horses in my own ranch. But this is sort of dream maybe harder to fulfil huh?
2. Visit (theraphy dogs) to orphanage - Great idea... I am sort of commited myself to this orphange near Giant in USJ 1... Taken care by Christians.. All together 14 kids... Can see their photos from my website www.geocities.com/amomentwithfion under A Visit To COMPASSION HOME For Kids... But we should try other orphange as well...
Community service is another good idea...
If nothing comes up.. whatever you guys and gals think of, do count me in... Til then... Fiona

so the only thing i can resort to is to bring the furkids out and let people mingle and play with them...maybe that can help to alter the perception as well.

well, as long as it helps lor... i see that by doing community projects, the public will take note that not all dog owners is irresponsible eg : use place and never clean up and etc.... hmm... maybe we can do the cleaning in small group on this coming weekend's trek wor.

Fion, what say u ar ?
