hi hi,
does it look like small small puss?? maybe it's allergy to food or a secondary infection to a current skin prob. last time jerrie used to have too. a lot at the stomach area. very geli. but i switched his food to lamb n rice formula. sprayed lemon solution to prevent scratching, and apply a cream called Himax (indian herbs). after a week, it's gone.
hope this helps

Cheers!

Re: [risamasuda, surchinmy] allergies [In reply to] Can't Post

hi,
b4 i start, have u brought ur furbaby to the vet? maybe can get better opinion. but anyway here's the recipe that i got fr one of the forum members becos my jerrie was diagnosed with mange and his skin was itching a lot back then.

Quote
For the demodectic mange I would suggest using a lemon tonic that you
can make at home.

1 lemon whole lemon sliced thinly
1 pint water
bring water to near boil add lemons,
let steep overnight. Sponge on once a day.

The above recipe comes from the book by Dr. Pitcairn (I can never remember the title)

Below is how to prepare the treatment for the skin wash.

This "recipe" by Pitcairn has worked for me in order to treat very
different kinds of skin problems. Since there are a few out ther,
thought I might send it along (from Pitcairn&Pitcairn "Natural health
for Dogs&Cats"):

- Slow boil in a liter of water 4 lemon skins (I squeeze the juice
for lemonade) for about 20 min.
- Let it cool down for about 1 hour
- Put it in a closed container and leave it a couple of days (for the
natural oils to "dissolve"... I think that there is some kind of
rotting going on as well, which helps quite a bit)
- Strain it into a squieting bottle
- Squirt freely over damaged skin (sounds crazy, but actually soothes
quite a bit and the D-limonene helps in skin recovery)

You start seeing results in about 6 days in my experience. I added my
personal touch: 4 teabags of chamomille in the boiling water.

i usually use the first one. hehe simpler.
as for food, i think lam n rice shud be the way to go. n most experienced members here will suggest BARF. maybe u can try that too. maybe Surchinmy or others may be able to give more opinion Wink

Cheers!

Not all brand Lamb & Rice dog food is the same. If you like to feed ur dog with 100% Lamb & Rice you can try this two brand : California Natural & Nutro

I don't think ur Shih Tzu have allergy with Chicken ingredient. Hope this help.

Sorry no experience in Mange problem before. Did you bring ur dog to the vet? You might need their opinion on ur dog problem. Cause when come to skin problem there are so many factor that can causes it.

I think the shampoo is about RM45. Don't know which pet shop at subang jaya selling. But you can get it at SS2 petshop.

The reason I say that is because everyone believe that Lamb meat is good for Skin. That statement is not true. Even Lamb meat can cause allergy too.
