u r still looking for a shih tzu breeder? my fren got a male shih tzu from an indian breeder in rawang not long ago...wanna give it a try...i have his contacts...
I am happy to see so many Shih Tzu owners here. But none of you can help me locate a breeder? Then I will probably resort to supporting petshop. Well, please don't blame those of us who support petshops and who indirectly support puppy millers. We ask, but to no avail.
Also, how about those newspaper pet classifieds. Are those breeders? Maybe I should call them up and visit the puppies.
i'm not a shih tzu owner myself...i have a dalmatian and a toy poodle...
yeah u can try calling those breeders in the newspapers...in fact i got to know this breeder thru star classifieds too...his breeding is ok...dun worry coz i've been to his place...
I think I would prefer as white as possible with few patches of light brown. I thot all Shih Tzus are flat-face? I like the flat faced ones. So adorable. Cannot tahan liaw......hehehehe......
Yah white is lovely..but very hard to maintain wor :)
will get stained easily :).....
not all shih tzu flat face one :) hehehehehe, flat face is not so common....
i personally feel flat face is very adorable hehe, u make the right choice, chris's friend (the breeder), he breeds flat face shih tzu, i wonder if he has any puppies with him now...
oh yah...u want them with cert or without?
i think u better ask chris to help u find out asap ....
Call MKA (Malaysian Kennel Association) to find out a breeder near you during office hours. You can go and visit their places and look at their puppies compared them, and their areas, surrounding, how they are taken off etc.... Look at their parents...
I always thought only pekingese are suppose to be flat face, never know its an advantage for a shihtzu to have a flat face. My learning of the day. LOL.
i bought mine from a home breeder...very nice guy...very impressive!!
could take you there ....he is in Bkt Jalil!

Thank you guys for helping me out. I will most probably get one when I change to a less demanding job. For right now, no one is in my condo during weekdays for more than 12 hours a day. I don't want to leave my furball alone, especially when she is still a puppy. I was thinking of getting a pair. But it is just too expensive. Anyhow, I will not leave her in the cage all the time, will secure a play area for her instead. What do you guys think?
I had frens who leave their shih tzu at home alone all this while during work hours. She's already 2 years plus. Very healthy and friendly. I wonder all shih tzu can stay home alone like her.
I heard poodle makes a lot of noise. Is it true poodle's gang?
Mafia, are you a mafia for Shih Tzu? Hehehe.....just kidding.
Good to see u around.....so wht is ur profession? in IT line? Well, taking care of one puppy is hectic enuf, and u want to double it? getting a pair is sure good, they can be each other's companion, but a lot of responsibility too ....me and my bf (chris ng lah) has 2 doggies....dalmation and poddle ....and taking care of both of them occupies most of our time....i think it would be a bit heavy for u if u dont have anyone to help u loh....will pengsan one....heheheheh...I guess u have made the right decision bout not letting the young furkid alone at home...they need time to adjust to the new environment and their new owner at least for a week loh.... Shih tzu is a very good indoor dog :), i mean they can be left alone at home all the time....mayb sometimes they can be a mischief but that is the norm loh...hehehehe but i cant really provide u information on shih tzu ah :P coz i dont have one....mayb u can ask the experts in the shih tzu thread...
Anyway, my colleague ownes a flat face shih tzu named joey :), he is very obedient one....stays at home alone when my colleague is away for work...during office hour my colleague will put him inside his crate...other than that he is allowed to roam freely...joey seldom barks.....so if u stay in the apartment u dont have to worry it would disturb the neighbour ..now joey is 5 month plus ...sometimes my colleague will let him board at my house and play with my little poodle...(they were bought on the same day, so they sort of grows up together ).
hmmm bout poddle...they sure barks a lot more than shih tzu...but normally they bark only when their is a reason to :)...little daisy only barks when she sees strangers around and at the stray dogs...besides that, she is as quiet as can be
well all i can say is only good luck :) and have fun hunting for ur dream dog
what are u working as wor? very demanding work har? hmmmm...it's true...new puppy needs the owner to be around for some time...let them get used to the new surrounding and show them around the new place...show them the rules in the house and everything...ahahahaa....
2 yrs plus shih tzus wont cause any problem oredi...they are matured by that time...but young puppy tends to be more playful and notty...they will bite anything they come across when they're teething...lots of teaching...try this page http://www.canismajor.com/dog/topic1.html
hahaha...no...i'm known as mafia to the outside world....
shih tzus....nah...thats my gf's passion .....got 4 of them is though! thinking of botaking them ler!...
anyway....janice.....do you live in a condo or landed property?
