Re: [Jimmy0216] Puppy.com.my's 2nd Gathering [In reply to] Can't Post

Luckey is organizing another gathering. Please check for the date. As for Chino Photo, I do not seem to be able to find it. Please email to me again to bg@bgkhoo.com so that I can upload your PIC at night. Heavy work schedule in recent weeks is preventing me from spending much time updating this web site. Training two dogs for obedience is also taking a lot of my time Smile

This is very sad to hear. Another venue struck off the puppy.com list. I really do pity M'sian dog. The only place they can run freely is either the compound of the house or any private properties ... sigh. Haven't had the time to check out the proposed PD venue. Will update everyone if I do. Hope the owner of the place is comfortable with > 10 dogs which I doubt so. Worse to worse, a day trip to PD.

Hmm... that's sad to hear... are there any public parks at all where we can have dogs? How about if we include the in this, get them to help organize, coz I know they have agility equipment stored away nr padang merbuk somewhere... if they don't have enough, we could always bring our own to supplement the doggy course...

Does anyone know who Padang Merbuk belongs to, and what kind of arrangement they have with MKA?

CD Moo,

Sad to hear this piece of news.. Frown Kindly confirm that she was referring to Taman Rimba Kiara and NOT the other fancy park at the other end of Tmn Tun Dr.Ismail (That park I know for sure dogs are NOT allowed)

Otherwise, I would have to drive by one day and reread the signboard to see if any amendments are added recently.

hi Arthur,

Confirmed that it's Tmn Rimba.Unsure

According to her, there's no mention in the sign board as well.

Hey you know what....frm what i've read it seems like KL is more strict on no dogs policy than in Penang....over here the big fenced in parks yes no dogs but the smaller field and playgrounds no problem ler.....don't you hv such places in KL as well? Or do all the fields and playgrounds hv the same policy too?

Re: [cdmoo] Puppy.com.my's 2nd Gathering [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi all,

Yes I was the one who took my dog, Axel, to the Taman Rimba park. I stopped by and asked the guard and he said ''no dogs allowed''. And then I said "Mine only puppy..." and he said "ok" but VERY reluctantly. And then I drove back to Subang and got the 'puppy' and brought him into the park. No one questioned me when I was walking him in the park although the guard drove by on a motorbike occasionally.

There is no mention on the sigboard. But if anyone noticed, the terms of your dog license actually state that you cannot take your dog to "tempat awam" (at least for MPSJ-issued licenses). So the MPSJ (or DBKL) authorities may have the right to come and fine you for breaking the terms of your license by taking your dog to a public place.

But someone at the park (who is the owner of one golden and one lab) told me that dogs are allowed to swim at this place called Kuang (if i am not mistaken) which is off Sg Besi. Apparently there is also water skiing and stuff.

Well, near my house there is one small padang where i can bring Teddy for a walk. But then its really for the 'village' 's activities, so i rather not take the risk. I guess there is no sign or watsoever stating that no dogs or aliens alllowed so, I am free to bring him there. But then so many little kids playing football sometimes, kinda not enough space.

Maybe we can find some padang or some sort?

Lisa

Re: [delithra] Puppy.com.my's 2nd Gathering [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi, I had a similar experience at Tmn Rimba Bkt Kiara. At first, the lady at the gate told me no dogs are allowed in the park. When I assured her that I would pick up my puppy's stools (I even showed her the plastic bags I was carrying), she was quite happy to hear that and promptly agreed to let us in. But you're right about the guards on motorcycles. They drove by and watched me but didn't chase me out. I suppose he just wanted to make sure my pup and I are "behaving" properly. By the way, where do you all walk your dogs? I tried bringing my pup to public parks but found that there are usually a few strays around...and they would come over and sniff. Actually there is a nice public park in SS2 which has a walking path. Again, there is a sign which says indicate that no dogs are allowed. I find it ridiculous because, first of all, there are strays roaming around freely. If anything, the strays were leaving their stools around instead of owner-led dogs. Other thing was, I noticed several dogs with collars & licences roaming around unleased. I presume these dogs belong to houseowners surrounding the park. I find it irresponsible of these owners to let their dogs roam unsupervised. Also, they leave their droppings around and the blame falls on us, who pick up after our dogs. I just wonder why is that allowed when we, responsible dog owners are barred from the park. Any thoughts from anyone?

Re: [delithra] Puppy.com.my's 2nd Gathering [In reply to] Can't Post

I think that the key is too act confident. I ake my two there quite regularly and have never been told that dogs are not allowed. LIke the other members say, make sure we clean up and that our pooches are well behaved. That should serve our cause well.

Hwever, i keep reading about people who go to this park and yet we keep missing each other. It is a really pity as even an informal gathering would be fantastic. Perhaps we could suggest saturday mornings, between 10.30 - 12.00 and saturday afternoons between 4.00 - 6.30 as "hot" time for people. Then even if we don't organise or plan, we will still be likelier to meet up if we concentrate our visits around these times. Also, if there are a few of us, we will be less likely to be chased out.

Has anyone seen any dogs walked at Lake gardens? Is that place dog friendly?
